Melissa and Doug know how to write instructions. Super easy to follow and it felt like doing a fun puzzle putting it together. My 4 year old and I love it. The key thing I like most is that the register boops when you scan items. Loved this product. Sturdy, not too heavy and quite fun.

Excellent quality, it is real wood and is way sturdier than most toys. It took some assembly but the directions were clear and easy to follow. If you have absolutely zero experience putting anything together this may be a little hard but 100% doable. It took me and my bf about an hour to assemble and get all the accessories in place. Definitely worth the cost, would recommend to friends and family!

The media could not be loaded. This is very sturdy. My 7 and 5 year old like it just as much, maybe more than my 1 year old. It took my husband about 30 minutes to put together. Such cute details, like the scanner, grocery checklist, credit card machine, and plenty of space to add more food. It sparks lots of imaginative play, but also helpful in teaching them about money, sales, budgeting, and food categories. Fun toy! We love melissa and Doug products! I do wish it came with the wooden melissa and Doug food items, instead of the cardboard boxes, but we just bought those as well to go with it.

In my opinion it’s worth every penny. It’s adorable and has kept my littles attention. My 13 year old even thinks it’s cool, which is a feat in itself. It did take awhile to put together but the instructions were easy to follow and everything fit together perfectly. The fridge door does come on/off easily but it hasn’t been an issue. The cardboard food won’t last long but I got the matching wooden food and those are wonderful.

I got this for my 7yo and 4yo and it’s an absolute hit. Especially the “working” scanner and conveyor belt, it’s got what it needs for tons of pretend play. It took me about an 1.5 hours to put together. It’s sturdy!
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Quality, A Few Issues
This is a nice product and is almost the quality I expect from most Melissa and Doug kids products. Had it in my wish list for a while and made the purchase when it dropped to $100. Made of mostly wood and some fiberboard. The fridge door did not align properly for my set. The “door frame” or opening was not plumb even though the screws and dowels were aligned with the pre-drilled holes. The door closes, but needs to be lifted to fit into the opening.One thing to note is that the groceries that come with the market set does not fill more than probably 20% of the shelf space. So be prepared to buy more play groceries, or re-use empty cartons and boxes of your real groceries for the kids to pretend play with.Lastly, the quickest fail point for the market was the register cash tray latch mechanism that prevents the tray from falling out when pulled open. There are really weak plastic tabs that flex and allow the tray to go in, but when pulled out, the tabs are supposed to catch the fiberboard above. It only took a day for my kids to rip it out and snap. Imagine now the tray falls out because it has no way to stop, every time it is opened, landing on the kids’ toes.I found a solution using the child proof cabinet locks. Cut off the rounded end, so that it would latch against the table top. It naturally flexes down as designed to allow for loading the tray into place. I cut a hole in the fiberboard about 2.5” x 2.5” to allow for the latch to be easily installed and removed with your finger. Hopefully they improve this latch mechanism in future lots.My kids love it, the register scanner beeps when scanning groceries. The credit card reader looks like the real deal, which was part of the appeal. The conveyor built actually moves and pulls items along.

My grandkids are living overseas for their Dad’s job and I wanted to ship them something to make their Christmas special. There’s not a lot to do where they are, so imaginative play, at home, is so important. They were thrilled with this little market. Conveyor belt really moves, beeps when groceries are scanned, credit card reader beep-boop-beep when card is swiped. So many realistic details. Grandkids are 3 and 4. So much going on with stocking shelves and refrigerator section, checking out and bagging groceries. Counting change, etc… no one ever complains about whose turn it is to play with any of it ! My son said it was the simplest thing he’s ever assembled and the instructions were very explicit. We love it !

Se jouet vient avec plusieurs accessoire dont un caisse enregistreuse qui fait "bip" lorsque nous passont les objets en dessous comme une vrai épicerie , un tapis roulant avec manivelle pour faire avancer le tapis , des boîtes de nourriture ainsi que deux canne de nourriture , de l'argent, carte de crédit, coupon rabais, magasine , sac d'épicerie et encore plus .J'ai mis une étoile de moins puisque la machine pour payer de la caisse a des petits bris ici et là au niveau de l'esthétique et avec le prix payé, je m'attends à recevoir un jouet relativement parfait . Cela arrive parfois bien évidemment et le reste était absolument parfait ! Prenez note aussi que le jouet n'est pas fait pour les très grand enfants puisque le jouet n'est pas bâtit très haut.Je ne regrette pas du tout mon achat et vous le conseille vivement
Missing piece & damage
This product came in an already open box - two pieces were damaged and one piece missing. Not at all what I’d be expecting for the amount this item costs. Very disappointed.
