5.0 out of 5 stars Scooter Is A Life Saver
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I purchased this due to a back problem, which causes issues when walking a distance. I needed something that was light and easily portable. This little scooter fits my purpose perfectly. I love the 2nd battery backup. I have found that this scooter is approved by airlines, and that I could ride right up to the gate, for a 'gate check', and that it would be waiting for me at the end of the plane ramp, when getting off the plane! I have had no problem charging batteries, and I purchased a third battery for backup. I will rotate the batteries in usage.I have found, through experimenting that this scooter DOES NOT WORK ON GRASS/dirt. For the both, the scooter sinks into the material and will not budge. I can't complain as it IS advertised for smooth surfaces only.Had fun yesterday with it. I rode it into the movie theater and parked it right next to my lounge chair. I had my popcorn in the basket, and a water bottle in the basket's pouch for holding drinks. I was happy! This scooter also solves an issue that I had when wanting to go to an events center to see performances. The parking long was two blocks away (a LONG block). With this scooter, I could just purchase a wheel chair spot, ride the scooter to the event center, ride the elevator up to my floor, scoot out, and park in my wheel chair space! I bought the deluxe padded seat, with armrests, so that I can be more comfortable in doing that. I will otherwise ride without the armrest seat, just using the original seatUPDATE:The deluxe, padded seat is more comfortable, and the armrests are great for the arms. However, I believe the armrests to be questionable for long term life. I can easily see that applying pressure on them, over time, may cause them to fail. They do not appear to be constructed to allow weight to be pressed down on them. Ok for just resting your arms on them, but if you use them to apply body weight, in an attempt to stand and get off the scooter, I am not sure they will survive. In fact, because they are not designed to be 'load bearing', they could fail when a heavy weight, from a large person, is put on them, which could cause the person to fall. This is speculation on my part, but they just do not appear to be designed for having weight place on them, and surviving over time.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for me
This review is for the SuperHandy Passport Mobility Scooter - Foldable 3 Wheel scooter GUT 112.I have had this scooter for a month now, and it continues to work well. I have mobility issues stemming from a broken femur last fall, so it was difficult for me to shop for groceries with my husband. We enjoy shopping for food and household items together, and I did not want to have my groceries picked out by a store employeee. So, this scooter is the solution to the problem. When we go shopping, I am riding in front in the scooter, and my husband is behind me with the shopping cart. The scooter is amazingly maneuverable and turns easily around the grocery aisles.Another important factor to consider with this scooter is that it is lighweight. At 35-37 pounds, my 81 year old husband can lift it into the back of our Honda CRV. The scooter folds in the middle, so my husband can fold the scooter and load it into the CRV fairly easily with no other disassembly necessary. And, the groceries still fit in the back of the CRV as well.I would caution that, since the scooter is very lightweight, it tends to bounce over rough ground. It is designed for store aisles and smooth pavement only. I would not recommend riding it in the yard or other ground. If you hit a bump or hole in the ground, the result might not be good. That said, I feel very secure when riding the scooter in a parking lot to get to the store entrance, and it is perfectly balanced in the store aisles. Also, there is an excellent video on YouTube showing how to assemble the scooter. Just be sure that you are watching the video for the GUT 112 scooter. Assembly is easy, but the video makes it even easier.I would recommend this scooter to anyone.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, light, agile and fast
Had my doubts with this scooter. With my 5'9" 260 lbs frame I figured on getting 2-3 hours of battery life on convention floors with variable thickness of carpeting and limited hard floor use. Well, it proved me wrong with 4.5 to 5.5 hours before battery change with constant stop and start and faster acceleration when needed for evasive maneuvering or trying to catch open doors held open by observant kind individuals. Got lots of comments for it's agility and speed moving through tight areas. Got lots of "that's speedy!" and jealous looks from the rental fleet users that had big slow cumbersome machines. This is tiny but mighty! It's a single drive motor on one back wheel but it was competent. It slows down considerably up ramps but chugs along smoothly. It can surge at full throttle slightly as it is conservative in its power band and may not hold full speed for more than a few seconds depending on where the battery level is at. It does not have an engine brake so hands on the brake grip is essential going down hills and in heavy walking traffic because it will cruise into someone if you're not diligent and observant. Good brake lock for hills when your need to park it. The brake is a bit rough and squeaky but does well...just dont grab a big handful of brake and expect it to stop on a dime and be exceptionally careful going down hill. No front or back light so wearing a headlight or a bicycle back light or clamp on light might be needed. The basket for the front is OK...bounces a little and hooks tends to rest onthe side of the bell making it difficult to use but it held an extra battery, a couple water bottles, purse and extra stuff. My husband and I were impressed immensely and it made a long walking trip at a convention much more tolerable and comfortable. The standard seat is comfortable enough and we did buy the upgrade seat but with the extra weight, we figured we would visit that option later. Cons is the tippyness is evident on tight fast acceleration turns but getting your feet to floor off the flippable pegs is easy enough with no hinderance like big scooters with big floor boards. I would not recommend for those with balance issues and require more stability as this could be too light and tippy at fast speeds and you do need some quicker reaction time to get you feet down to steady it if it happens. It isn't zero turn but it's turn is within a 5-6 foot radius But, for a lot of individuals who need an inexpensive way to get around after an injury or with disabilities that don't require more protection, and need it to fit inside a smaller car, you can't beat this! Ours fit with the handlebars down and seat back folded down in a Bronco sport without putting seat backs down so you maintain passenger capacity but impacts the storage a little. We managed 2 big duffels, 2 carry on suitcases in the second seat and about 5 extra bags with 2 people in a small SUV and didn't fold the scooter. Buy a second battery or a third and you have +/- 15 hours of convention use and peace of mind. Love this little machine!
Super easy to get around!
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Bought this for my grandmother and she LOVES it! It is has made her life a lot easier. Only issue is, she uses to take recycle out in her building, and no place to really put that when she is driving it.Great having the two batteries, we are actually going to put it in a suitcase this year and take it with us on our trip. This is one of the lightest ones you will find, and believe me, I have looked. She has a hard time getting it in her car, (her car is small) however, for everyone else, not an issue.Would definitely recommend this!
Bon article.
Trés bien, conforme a la publicité, bref a conseiller . Merci
A really brilliant purchase of an amazingly capable scooter
Its very rare to make a purchase that proves to be so rewarding and capable! This scooter has been very well designed and built to provide the maximum cover it all capability. It is lightweight and solidly constructed, it easily fits on the rear seat of our car. It is easy and manageable to drive with ample power being provided by an efficient battery, with a spare battery were it required for either town or country travels, both of which we do. What a relief to have such a well made and capable mobility scooter. Thanks designers and manufacturers.
Nett
