5.0 out of 5 stars Flat bottom kettle
I bought this kettle because the bottom is flat, no sharp edges, no areas for grease or grime to gather hold. I did not realize until after I bought it that it does not whistle, and I have to admit that I would prefer that it be a whistling kettle.
5.0 out of 5 stars The kettle I've been waiting for!
This is a really nice tea kettle. Some reviewers mentioned the lid falling off, so I tipped it up really far, and no, it didn't fall off. You do have to push the lid in place with a gently but firm nudge. I have an induction stove top, so the very flat bottom of the kettle is perfect. The kettle is an attractive shape, well made, easy to clean, and pours without a drop spilling! Great spout design - above even a large amount of water in the kettle. The handle folds down for easy cleaning and filling, but stays upright when you want it to. And the silicone protects your hands, no pot holder needed. I love it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, elegant, and sturdy
I like to make a big pot of decaf green tea in the morning and sip it throughout the day. This tea pot fits the bill because I can use my large infuser to make tea directly in this pot. It heats quickly (surprising because of its size) on the fast boil element of my stove and retains heat very well. I love the simple lines, and the brushed stainless exterior matches my large appliances. Be aware, though, that when filled to a reasonably high level it weighs almost 10 pounds. But to me that's a feature not a bug.
1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor wuakity
I expected much more at this price point. Less than one month and it’s rusted and tarnished. It’s also not possible to contact the seller about warranty information or replacement. Hate having to waste my time returning this. At 80$ I shouldn’t have to be doing this.
5.0 out of 5 stars The result of hours of research
I’m one of those people who does a TON of research before buying things. I did so for this purchase especially, since I am an avid tea drinker. I wanted a larger, heirloom quality kettle that can stand some abuse. I considered the almighty Le Creuset enameled steel kettle, but I am not good at remembering to empty my kettle to dry between uses - so enamelware was out. (Also the LC kettle had a measly 1.7 liter capacity) I finally settled on this kettle, and guys - it’s wonderful.VERY generous capacity, seamless steel, excellent pour (no drips!) great heat retention, comfortable handle and knob without being “plasticky.” I’m also surprised by how classic and attractive it is. Somehow it’s simple, minimal, practical, but also has a vintage flair that is very “me”.Time will tell if it is “heirloom quality”, but since it’s such a seamless design, and stainless steel, I imagine it will hold up nicely.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!
I looked at pages and pages of tea kettles. This one was a little pricey, but I figured I'd try it. So glad I did. It holds a LOT of water, heats up fast. I really like that the spout tip is higher than the highest level of water you can put in, so it does not become a problem if you over-fill. Also, the handle stays where you put it, so it can never get hot by falling down beside the pot. My last kettle (enameled steel) started rusting out after 40 years, so I needed a new one. I doubt this stainless steel will ever cause me problems. And it looks great on my black and white stove that has a brushed aluminum oven handle. We love the new kettle!
4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy. Pieces are not going to melt off!
This is teapot 14. I’ve tried every kind, every size. Every single one before had pieces that melted or broke. Fingers crossed for number 14. I feel like this could be unbreakable. Time will tell. The only issue is that there is no whistle. Is there supposed to be. If so, guess what, it’s broke. Without the whistle I do get distracted and forget that I have a boiling teapot.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Quality and features
I am extremely pleased with this tea pot and have looked for a replacement for years. The stainless steel is higher quality than most kitchen equipment (18/10--more nickel). This is reflected in the higher price but worth it to me. The handle moves to the side for ease of filling the pot with water; most others is stationary which makes it cumbersome to fill. There is a small hole in the top to allow venting of steam thereby avoiding the hot kettle water boiling over even with the top on. Finally, the stainless is brushed which does not show spots on the exterior, a famous problem with stainless steel. Oh the size is perfect too for boiling hot water when making stews and soups.
