5.0 out of 5 stars Easy and pretty results.
The brushes are pretty cheap. So, if you love to paint, I would recommend you purchase a good brush for all your painitng. The results are so pretty. and totally worth the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to acrylic painting
All styles of painting carry their own challanges and unique strengths and acrylic is no excepiton. It dries very fast, for better or worse. It can be used at all degrees of transparancy, from near watercolor to impasso. The viscosity of the paint controls so much, the first thing you need to learn to do is control that. This gives a great intoduction to that and to all of the challenges of acrylic in an easy, convenient format. You can use this as a kit on its own or as a step into more serious acrylic painting and it's great either way. These are lovely and easy to follow. The paint is quite thick, but thins nicely with water. I might add GAC to make it a little easier yet still keep its longevity. I'm torn on that. Certainly if you are using this as a step into serious acrylic painting, you will want that sooner or later. I would also pick up a much smaller brush, say a #1 round, for the detail work. The brushes in the kit are great, but I think a finer one would round out the set nicely. That's not to say the kit can't be used as is. It can, and it's fine. I just think adding those two items will make it easier. The images are lovely and the printing on the canvas is perfect and clear. The instrucitons are excellent. This is good for kids or adults.
4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing, but can have complex details
First, this is NOT for kids under 14-ish!3 of the 4 prints have fine details that are difficult to stay in the lines. Improvising works, but it’s very stressful if you’re a perfectionist. All supplies are included, with the brushes ok for the price. Canvas is good. It does come with creases but they smooth right out by ironing on the reverse on the lowest heat setting. It also worked to just roll it up print side out.The paints were MOSTLY okay. The reds were watery, though I know red pigments can be, but the company should “fix” that. The worst was that THE WHITES WERE DRY! It says to dilute with no more than 2 drops of water. Not quite! Add two drops at a time and mix well. After 5 drops (0.3 ml) it was ok to do the snowballs, which actually made them look puffy. It took another 4 drops (for a total of 0.5 ml) so that it’d be ok for narrow areas. More water would be needed to make it usable for fine areas. Do not add the water all at once or the paint will be ruined! (Yes, did that, but I had white left over from a previous print.)Would I recommend? I think so. Just realize you might need to work on the whites paints. And have a magnifying lens!
5.0 out of 5 stars So much fun!!!
I love the designs! So easy to paint , the quality of the canvas is amazing. It’s a great way to unwind, or even give as a gift ❤️
5.0 out of 5 stars Outstandingly happy!!!
I'm so happy with these! This is my first time painting, and I have nerve damage in my hands, plus poor eyesight. I was able to complete these with ease. The designs are very forgiving; the numbers clear (plus there's a schematic). Each canvas has its own set of paints, brushes, a color pic, and a schematic to follow. The paints are in excellent condition. I ironed the canvases, and they're very nice. I bought frames to put these up in my living room. Will definitely buy from them again! I sort of wish the medium brush was slightly larger. It's really close to the small, and there's a gap between the med and lg. But that is such a tiny thing. Overall, these are outstanding! I'm really enjoying painting, and totally happy with the seller and the quality of these kits.
3.0 out of 5 stars Gnomes have Super Complex Details
Did this with my mom hoping it would be a chill painting, like painting with a twist. It was not! Was honestly quite stressful and frustrating as it was genuinely really too small to paint. As an artist myself, it felt so disconnecting doing it in portions like this, like I didn’t even know what I was creating at any one time. By the time I was finished with the top 1/4 of my painting I decided to say screw it and do what I want using the reference (the photo attached)! Took me 6 hours total, even after that (doing it normally takes so much less time than precisely by numbers!).Regardless, it was fun, but I think I would have preferred to just watch a Bob Ross painting tutorial instead. The quality of the paintbrushes and paints provided were surprisingly good (although the red and white was unsurprisingly thin), I didn’t add any water to my paints as they were thin enough.
