    Wow! I was so pleasantly surprised when I opened this box! It's even more beautiful in person!! The product is made of a thin metal with a silver finish, the hour glass is made of glass, the base and center detailing are a pearlescent color, the bottom of the base has a royal blue velvet table-protector attached and at the center of the product you can see the sand go through the middle of the glass hourglass!It arrived packed securely in a nice red box that is lined with a white satin lining (the box and lining are cheapy made, but still nice if you want to give this as a gift). The only assembly is screwing the hourglass into the base. I timed the hourglass that I received and it is approximate 37 minutes on each side (plus or minus 30 seconds depending on if you have the hourglass tilted completely vertical).I adore this product!! It may not be a perfect 30 minute timer, but the quality of the product for the price and the beauty of the design make it something that will get regular use in my home, and will be treasured for many years!!

    This works just fine. My complaint it that the top and bottom trim is held on with hot glue. Both of them fell/broke off after just 2 weeks.I'd purchase this again understanding that pieces will fall off. The "broken" pieces do NOT interfere with the operation of the hourglass.

    I have always loved hour glasses so when I saw this one I ordered it. The photos just do not do it justice on how beautiful it is. I love that you flip it within its stand to start the time. This does not look like a cheap hour glass and I've had many compliments on it.
