    The hook release are great. Pretty inexpensive, and I got 5, so I’ve put one in each of my setups. I fish year round, so I needed a good hook release. These are exactly what I wanted.

    It is better than trying to use needle nose pliers back in the days. After the first try I couldn't get my fly out of the fish. It's my favorite and was handmade 43 yrs ago for me. I always was able to catch /snag by the 2nd cast. I thought I would have to cut that fly out. But I reinsert the thing push down and it caught the hook just right. 4 lb bass first fish and fishing trip in 22 yrs. I have purchased lots of fishing gear this year no regret. I'm pushing 70 yrs young. Took me a couple tries before I actually went fishing alone. Sadly where I live I can't just go down to a good stream nearby. But I'm going to go once more before snow falls. Then try ice fishing once.
