5.0 out of 5 stars Works with 2021 M1 iPad Pro
Even though there were no reviews for this product when I ordered it, and nothing online I could find, I wanted something with USB4 for future proofing for my 2021 M1 iPad Pro. The 2021 M1 iPad Pro wasn't listed as a compatible device either when I ordered it, so I was taking a risk, but sure enough it works. The USB ports work along with the HDMI out and the SD card slots all at the same time while plugged in and the unit charging my iPad Pro from the PD delivery port.I haven't tested the 3.5mm audio out or the ethernet port, but I wanted to write this because the main features I wanted out of this unit work flawlessly with the 2021 M1 iPad Pro thus far. I will eventually test the 3.5mm and ethernet, but these weren't features I truly needed with the hub for my iPad, so they would just be extra icing on the cake if they work as well.No speed tests were done yet either as it just arrived today and I have only had a little time to mess around with the functions.
5.0 out of 5 stars Portability, No set up needed, Enough port for connection
Likes-portability-easy use-future proof-durable materials-convenient to connect even the lan portDislikes-gets hot-HDMI connect easily as long as you don't connect another one directly through your laptop as it does not read or connect instantly.-non-detachable cable.Although there are dislikes, overall it is good. so i do not have any major complaints and this is an affordable option as I do not have any budget for the caldigit or kensington one. they are also bulkier compared to satechi. so far i do not plan on buying another one due to budget constraints and I am able to maximize the usage of this the satechi USB4. I have to buy due to work. I heard that there is satechi T4 but still satisfied with this one. thanks
5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and lots of expansion
This unit is extremely fast and works as advertised. It expands your ports quite a bit, which is needed since Apple has decided to go extremely minimalist on the ports. I have a port for pretty much everything I need.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very good
This is an excellent, lightweight and very portable docking station. Unlike most docks I've tested this one is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket and doesn't weigh as much as a brick. While I quite like the port options I'd much prefer it if the USB 2.0 port was switched out for a second USB-C port. There are already two USB 3.2 ports, so a third old school USB doesn't really add anything. The single 8K HDMI port is plenty for a portable dock. All in all this is well designed and, like all Satechi products, extremely well built. I'm typing this review on my beloved Satechi Slim X3 keyboard, and I'm happy to recommend anything from the brand.
3.0 out of 5 stars after 4 months primary HDMI failed
I paid extra to get a more robust product but it seems the higher price makes no difference. I have 3 port replicators now. two with fail USBs- One still has 1 outta 2 working. The other was thrown away. Now I have a failed HDMI output on this one which reduces my productivity.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Adapter Choice If You Need 8K HDMI
This review is for Satechi ST-U4MA3M USB4 Multiport Adapter with 8K HDMI (ASIN B09PQ9X2F4). I was looking for a new hub to store in my laptop bag, and this one looked interesting. The hub seems well made and solid. The USB-C cable lead length is fine if you use your laptop flat on the table, but I use mine on an angle stand, so I find the cable to be shorter than I would like. I like the available ports on here, but I would have preferred to trade off one USB-A for an additional USB-C. The big thing here is the 8K HDMI port. I am sure that if I had an 8K display, that this would be a big deal. But I only have at max 4K displays, so I am not able to take advantage of this feature. If you have use for an 8K HDMI port, then I would say this is a very good adapter to look at. If you don't have a use for 8K HDMI, then you can save money by getting a 4K version. Everything else about this adapter is pretty good though, and it just depends on what features you have a use for.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the M1 iPad Pro
This Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter measures 4.53" x 2.4" x 0.73" and weighs 5.6 ounces. This Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter is very well made and seems to be constructed mostly of metal (possibly aluminum) and has reinforcement at the base of each tip of the permanently attached cable.I used this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter for almost 2 solid months with my M1 Ipad Pro. It's held up exceptionally well to my commute and very heavy usage. The size and durability of this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter are what sold me on using it almost exclusively with my M1 iPad Pro. That said, I have occasionally plugged this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter into my M1 MacBook Air and it works just fine. In fact, this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter is possibly even better with the MacBook Air as I got the ethernet functionality to work on my MBA whereas iPadOS is still a bit finicky in recognizing wired connections.I use this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter with my iPad pro because I use the iPad Pro for design work using Procreate, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, and the Concepts App to sketch, draw, and the like. The iPad Pro actually has some decent cameras onboard that allow for taking good images and 4K video at up to 60 FPS. I never used the cameras on my iPad Pro except for scanning docs because I didn't want to fill the meager 128GB hard drive with media but this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter allows me to take good images, import them into creative projects, and then move those projects to other devices whether they are part of the Apple Ecosystem or not thanks to the full-sized and micro SD Card slots that come with this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter. This Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter also allows me to use my most expensive wired headphones with my iPad Pro thanks to the included 3.5mm headphone jack. This means I can listen to content with audiophile-grade cans or monitor video content I am editing effectively as well. What I liked most about this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter was:- Build quality- Port selection- Usefulness- Unlocks M1 iPad Pro capabilities now which should only expand when iPadOS becomes more functional this fallWhat I liked least about this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter was:- No place to rest the USB4 tip. Some adapters have an open slot on them that was designed to house the tips of their USB connections to prevent them from being damaged during transport. I desperately wished this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter had such a featureOverall, this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter is an excellent investment for iPad Pro owners. While users of other devices can certainly benefit from this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter, I have found using it with my iPad Pro to be work-life changing. This Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter allows me to use more features of my M1 iPad Pro than I'd ever used in the past making this expensive tablet function as a pro-grade tool rather than just an overpriced media player. This Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter has been very durable, extremely reliable, and offers enough ports to allow me to get the most out of my M1 iPad Pro. I wish there was an open slot on this Satechi USB4 Multiport Adapter to store the tip of the USB C port while it's in transit but that's the only issue I have experienced thus far. 4.5 out of 5.0 for a very well-executed adapter.
It works as well as one can hope
It’s compact, and it satisfies every one of its advertised functions. It has HDMI output, an audio jack and Ethernet.

Che dire ottimo fa bene il suo dovere io ci attacco praticamente di tutto e funziona benissimo lo consiglio
This device works as a thunderbolt full speed device for apple silicon.
I 've bought this device to extend the number of ports of my macbook pro (m1 pro), since I am not able to fully go usb-c for all peripherals. It works as advertised for my purpose, giving me room for a second screen that doesn't necessarily need to have a usb-c connection (in my case a samsung g7 at 2560x1440@144Hz), a gigabit ethernet port and usb-a ports I really needed, in a convenient small and light package, that can be easily be carried around in my day to day pack. Here is how it is detected on the mac without the use or need of any special software :9-in-1 USB4 Hub: Vendor Name: Satechi Device Name: 9-in-1 USB4 Hub Mode: USB4 Device ID: 0xD584 Vendor ID: 0x310E Device Revision: 0x0 UID: 0x2109823D8C2C47E0 Route String: 1 Firmware Version: 4.16 Port (Upstream): Status: Device connected Link Status: 0x2 Speed: Up to 40Gb/s x1 Current Link Width: 0x2Very pleased so far with the product as it fits what I really needed. One negative aspect of the product is the the lack of the ability to daisy chain thunderbolt products, as the only available usb-c port is PD only. But for those needing this kind of functionality this isn't the right product.
Port very loose despite brand new
Port that connects to laptop is very loose despite brand new. No issue with other brands.Bought 2 of these and both have same issue
