It's a great wooden replica. I wouldn't go swinging this around to spar, the sword isn't stable enough for that. But it is neat to have and appreciate the craft.

I'm in love with this katana! I am cosplaying Shinobu for Halloween. It got delivered really fast. I love the quality of the bamboo and the little details are amazing. It's actually really easy to assemble, but do be aware that once it's together you cannot take it apart again. I initially just tried to put it together by reading the Chinese instructions but didn't realize there were English instructions in the back. I only put two parts together initially to take a quick picture with my costume before actually assembling it, and it was difficult to take apart, but still possible as long as you haven't attached the ziptie looking part yet. The product also comes with it's own katana stand so it looks legit. I guess my main complaint is that the paint does come off the more you put it in/out of the sheath. But overall I am very pleased, would recommend. I feel like if I wanted to travel out of state for a con and are bringing this for your prop, you'll have to figure out how to pack it in your luggage since you can't disassemble it... or risk getting raised eyebrows from TSA and everyone else at the airport.(I will try to see if I can post pics after posting this).

i cried due to happiness when i got this. it was hard to put together because u was crying and shaking (i have an emotional attachment/hyperfix to giyuu😭) i literally cleaned off my desk just to showcase it. the blade is wooden but im ngl i like that its wood:3 SOSOSOSOSOS HAPPYYY!!!!! YIP YIP HOORAAAYYYY

The sword is painted wood and quite good quality. It is a decent representation of the anime sword. Overall, it is still a "prop" that can be easily used for cosplay and playing around. The blade is not sharp, but the small cutouts on the blade (based on the cartoon) do have slightly sharp edges.
