5.0 out of 5 stars My experience was troublesome.
Returned two that didn't work. Lots of button pushing just to get it to record a track, then lots of button pushing to download a track.
1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS, until you read my LONG REVIEW
The unit is surprisingly small, a plus AND a minus. It is light and fits in the palm of your hand but that makes the display very small and difficult to read unless you have great eyesight. The buttons require a firm press. With that all said, the unit itself "appears" to work as advertised. But that's where anything good to say ends...This GPS is dependent on the phone app working for most of its functionality. And the phone app is CURRENTLY NOT WORKING. In reviews of the app, you can see that all but 1 person said they get an "unexpected error" message when trying to create an account or log in via the app. I made several calls to Bushnell tech support and sat on hold for nearly 45 minutes and spoke with 3 different people who basically couldn't help me. I finally spoke with someone, 4 hours in and after 2 days of calling, who admitted that the app didn't work and that the developers "no longer worked there" so there is no ETA on getting the app working...So don't buy one of these units, UNLESS you download, install and test the app on your phone first.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good Mini GPS -essential instructions less so.
Compact, versatile, accurate, fast-charging... So what's not to like? The device comes well packaged with a little not very informative Quickstart Guide. After a couple of days I noticed , in tiny print at the end of the back of the only instructions in the box, "A complete instruction manual is available at www.Bushnell.com" . Not easy to find on the website either, but be assured if you look hard enough, you will find a 65-page multilinual manual for this device. It turns out that this is a far more capable GPS than the initial packaging suggests, with a good range of features and ease of use. The control buttons are small, but ok with a little practice. The cellphone app recommended with the device is mildly useful, and free.Would I buy again? Yes, because eventually i found the manual. Otherwise it's pretty useless.
5.0 out of 5 stars Would definitely buy again
Wanted something simple, small, dependable and within my price range. Shopped around a bit. Saw the d tour mini. I couldn’t be happier. I do a lot of trail running and day hiking and wanted a compact GPS to give me 2 bits of information. 1- the direction of the truck. I drop a waypoint at the truck. Head out. Pull out the DTour. It tells me (point to point) the direction of the car and as a bonus the number of feet to it. Does not tell me if there is a lake or mountain in between but that’s fine with me. All I wanted was the direction. 2- longitude and latitude. Incase I need help (and have cell phone reception) I can call for help and give them my location. That’s all I was looking for in a GPS and it this does it perfectly. It does more like breadcrumbs, temp, etc but again I don’t care.
3.0 out of 5 stars You Get What You Pay For
This is a you-get-what-you-pay-for device. It adequately fulfils what I needed a GPS for, which was as a safety device to be able to verify that I've been travelling in the direction that I expected and to be able to retrace my path, and fulfils my preference for a GPS with a re-chargeable battery. On the down side, it is somewhat difficult to use, with the buttons being hard to press, and significantly over-estimates distance travelled (by an inconsistent amount that has ranged up to 60 percent more than the listed distances in trail guides). It also reported the elevation at High Point, New Jersey as 2023 feet, which is slightly more than 200 feet higher than the official elevation.
2.0 out of 5 stars cute, but really kind of useless breadcrumb map.
i wanted something that was simple and didn't have tons of useless features on it. all i really wanted was a "breadcrumbs" map to help me get back to my truck when riding atv trails in northern new england- this does have a "breadcrumbs" map however, the map is just too small for it to be useful. the screen is so small that any trail ride over 2 miles gets condensed into a very basic line, and there's no zoom-in feature on the screen, so after riding 10 miles into a 100 mile trail, you literally can't tell where your turns are left or right because the map is so small. as seen in my photo, that's the breadcrumb trail of my 15 mile drive into work- through multiple neighborhoods and dozens of turns- you'd never be able to pinpoint the turns I took if trying to follow that breadcrumb map back- a simple zoom feature would've resolved this, but bushnell designers apparently never tested this gps off road to see how useless the breadcrumb map is. $100 is way overpriced- this is maybe a $30 keychain gadget at best. the entire gps is 3" tall x 2,5" wide, the screen is only 1.75 x 2" - about the size of a smart watch. I returned it for a refund. i would've kept it if it had a zoom feature.
5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly as advertised
Great product
1.0 out of 5 stars You need cell service to connect with and app it needs.
Piece of junk, it needs an app. Not worth a crap in the mountains with no cell service!!
For what it does for the price is amazing
This product is just as good as a gps without the memory but the price is what got me it exactly what I except for a backtracker would highly recommend if you want mini gps /backtracker
Very good
I want to buy it again, but sales are closed in my region, please open it again, thank you.
Good gadget to use in the bush. Easy to operate.
This gadget makes sure one don’t get lost in the wilderness
Garbage
Accuracy of 30-50m in open fields, parking lots and streets. Does this rely on just three satellites and calls it good enough? In an attempt to trace the limits of a mostly forested property, I found this unit to be completely useless. I found a large clearing with no obstructions at least 40m in all directions, three steps south brought th GPS reading 100-150m south, roughly where the road was.I had to rely on a 15+ year old Garmin meant to driving directions to track my way around, as its GPS coordinates were accurate to the single meter even in the most dense part of the woods.A compass and a southern heading back to the road was what I ended up using when I was done marking the northern end of the lot with the Garmin Nuvi.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!!!(Unless your trip only requires markers that are roughly the size of a city block)
