5.0 out of 5 stars STOP SEARCHING - THE BEST Baklava SOLD ON AMAZON - TAKE MY WORD!!!
After Almost Giving up hope, the search is over and that's the one, the one that reminded me of the middle east days, and I say that as someone who lived in the middle east for more than 15 years of my life between Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria.I bought almost every single Baklava on Bolo, many more off Bolo and almost every single one I bought so far I could not finish it with my family, and end up throwing it in the garbage. Almost all of them felt like one recipe, sweet, just sugar syrup, and what I mean by that is extremely sweet to the point every 2-3 pieces would make me feel like I just consumed 1 pound of sugar, and you can see it also on the pieces, its like gravy white liquid of syrup, so powerful and concentrated that I do not taste anything elseI was hoping to get the one that middle eastern call the best in town, usually one brand or family dominate an entire region or the country if they are the best at what they do, and word of mouth and reputation is the only advertisement that works at the time as was there at least.I came across this Damaskino Baklava on Bolo, seeing the reviews I was a little skeptical, but going into the holidays I decided this would be the last Baklava I will ever try, and if its the same as the others I am done with Baklava forever, when I was ready to place the order it was out of stock, so I waited for few days and and they restocked, as PRICEY as it comes like everything good being sold on this CHINA JUN-K-GLE that we call Bolo I pressed the buy button. On arrival I opened the box and everything looks like some of the other brands I bought from in the past, I was not too hopeful it will be any different, I started lifting few pieces to check for that excess sugar syrup and there was NONE, I took the first bite and MAN oh MAN, it is the same one used to eat in the middle east, perfect texture, sweet enough as a perfect dessert should be, and you can taste everything in a perfect balance, the perfectly stuffed hand picked pistachio, the different types crunchy dough and the slight taste of butter, and yes you can tell it has butter not oil. The only bad thing about this experience is that my order was delivered around lunch time, and before I know it, I consumed almost half of the box, - What an animal, right?I started buying and sending direct a box each to some close friends and family, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM CALLED ME TO ASK MORE ABOUT IT, not a single complain, ALL COMPLIMENTS.So if this style of dessert looks appealing to you and you would like to have one of a kind dessert, take your bid on this one and do not waste your money on other brands like I did.Sorry for the long review & I rarely write them, and if I do they are usually short. I hope it will be helpful for some, and just to be clear to who ever wonders, I am not affiliated to the seller or to the Brand and I have never been in contact with either of them nor with any one that will benefit from this honest review in anyway, shape or form, online or offline, locally or abroad or in any type of communication your bigger headed brain is be able to imagine :).I really would love to leave photos but sorry boys, the Baklava was entirely consumed on the same day - what a BEAST, right? :) -----NO, I shared the other half with my wife & my kids $MART-A$$Astalavista JUN-K-GLE AKA Bolo.
5.0 out of 5 stars This tray is magnificent!
This is the second time I’ve ordered this tray— my daughter asks for it for her birthday and how can I say no? The presentation is beautiful. I grew up in Detroit and have eaten a lot of wonderful baklava in my formative years- this baklava is as close to what I remember (other than my mom making it). Not dripping wet— just dry enough you get all the textures, the flavors of the nuts come thru. Literally so good, I will absolutely buy again and again. If I had any complaint it was that the packing in the box this time didn’t have any “fluff” or filler so when it did arrive the gold plastic tray inside had some cracks. Then again, we did just have an arctic chill so perhaps some of that may have been due to the cold weather. Not really sure. I don’t recall the first tray I ordered being cracked at all. It didn’t break or disturb the product itself.
1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away
Very poor quality. We had guest for father's day and we opened the box and start eating. All the guest couldn't eat more than a bite when I start to hear it's dry, old, taste bad etc.Stay away from this poor quality junk....
3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
Where do I start. First, nuts were to big which made the honey crystallized and grainy. Filo dough was barely present in some pieces. Not flakey or tender. If you buy this for a person who has never had baklava before would be okay but for someone like me who makes her own or knows what they are eating, NO! Don't brother, not worth the money or the time it takes to ship. I think it took 2 1/2 weeks after I ordered it to receive it. Never ordering again! Disappointing to say the least!
5.0 out of 5 stars This is the real thing! Not any more!
Beautiful packaging and presentation. It looks exactly like the picture. A delicious assortment of baklava items. The filling is 100% Turkish pistachios, probably from Gaziantep. This baklava is thoroughly drained from any excess of syrup or ghee, as it should. This baklava doesn't come swimming in syrup or honey, like ordinary, so-called Middle Eastern sweets. Those who are looking for baklava dripping from honey have been eating the wrong stuff. I am on my second box, and planning to keep ordering. I personally don't care for the assortment that comes also with cashew nuts. If top quality pistachios are available, who would want cashew nuts in a baklava?Edit: Unfortunately , the new batch available in October 2023 is no longer 100% pistachio baclava. It’s a mix of pistachio baclava and cashew nuts baclava. I’m disappointed, and I’m not ordering this. Now Bolo has changed the details of the reminder I placed for purchasing the Damaskino Home Premium 1000gr Pistachio baclava. Now my reminder is directing me to buy the baclava assortment that includes cashew nuts. I am not buying this stuff. Hopefully the 100% Damaskino Pistachio baclava assortment will be available soon.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very good.
Taste was good. They were made with honey. Other brands used corn syrup. Lots of pistachios.

Very satisfying and fresh
3.0 out of 5 stars Meh
Loaded with pistachios and tastes fine but there is not a honey or butter richness to it.
