The chair setup is straightforward and easy. Upon my first week of use it seems to be a sturdy, comfortable, and good quality. The flip-up armrest is nice for getting in and out in tight spaces. There is enough padding on the seat and back to provide comfort and support. Ventilation is not ideal but comfort was my first priority, if you are looking for a chair that will give your good ventilation you may look for the mesh style. The chair is a good size for me, just make sure you check the dimension to make sure its a good fit for you. Over all I am happy with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars This chair has the comfort and support I needed.
This chair is exactly as advertised. It is comfortable and hits my lower back and thighs in all the right places. It is quiet and does not squeak like the last chair I bought 2 months ago. Very easy to put together and definitely shows its quality. I need to order another one for my Son.I did order one for my Son. This is the most comfortable and supportive chair. I work from home and sit in this chair for 8 hours. No aches or pains when I get out of it. Worth every penny!!
4.0 out of 5 stars Appropriately Priced
-The chair is comfortable. It places me in a "productive" position---upright, promoting good posture, focused. I don't sink into a pit of filling/stuffing. The seat is perfectly firm for me, just right (I am 6'5", 255lbs).-These armrests are something new to me. They don't have buttons or locking positions you can raise up or down. Instead, they're fixed on a hinge, and they swing up and down, resting wherever you set them (the hinge is intentionally stiff, which allows the armrest to stay exactly where you put it). At first, I thought this was just a cheap way to get around putting buttons in the armrests, but this system has quickly become my preferred design. Without thinking about it, each time I get up, I lift the arms up and out of the way so I can get out of the chair (this also allows the chair to be pushed under the desk without the armrests getting in the way), then when I sit down I automatically push the arms down to the desired height--no buttons to push, no getting stuck with "its almost where I want it, I wish it could go a half Inch lower" because these arms allow picky/anal people like me to put the arms at the EXACT height I want each time.-Ive never been a fan of plastic parts, so when I discovered the legs for this chair are plastic, I was concerned. However, what Ive realized is, usually the legs only break on these chairs AFTER other parts have broken or started to fail (like the hydraulic lift, the padding, etc.) so maybe the plastic legs do last as long as they're actually needed.-Plastic casters. Hate em in general, but with a hard plastic floor mat they should be OK.-Overall, I think the chair is worth the price. For me, $200 is about what I expect to pay for a 5 year desk chair. The quality is just right, the material is appealing and comfortable. The parts will last as long as needed. I don't expect a $200 chair to last more than 5 years. After that point, even a more expensive chair will start to lose its shape, padding will weaken, overall appeal will fade. So far, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is a Colamy company & customer service review, not a model 2199 chair review!!
I had a wonderful experience with Colamy customer service and I give them top marks for their courtesy and consideration. I purchased 2 chairs of this model 2199-black for my home office and 1.5 years later both broke within a month or two of each other in the same way. I think perhaps i got a defective lot and the chairs were clearly out of warranty, but Colamy did the right thing by sending me two replacement chairs and did not object when I requested alternative models (Model 91311) that were comparably priced! Although I would have preferred that the original chairs were more durable, I am very pleased with the overall outcome and considerations by Colamy given that the replacement chairs are actually better, and I have certainty a more stylish and durable model! Bravo to Colamy for that!
5.0 out of 5 stars East to Understand Its Functions
After years of sitting in an old wooden office chair, I finally broke down and bought this one, which I've used for several months. It was easy to put together and very simple to operate. Just know it does not lean back but instead flexes back and forth. (I didn't want one that did massages and heating.) It is much lighter than the wooden monster I had. It shifts easily on the chair mat. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a clean, simple design.
1.0 out of 5 stars Broke after three months
This chair base is so flimsy that after just three months of use, the chair could no longer comfortably be sat in because the base had bent to one side. Now I may not be skinny but if an office chair can’t support 235 lbs for eternity something is wrong. For what it’s worth, the cushions of the chair were pretty comfortable but began to wear down also after three months. I noticed that the seat itself began feeling harder and harder. I guess you get what you pay for but this wasn’t exactly cheap.
3.0 out of 5 stars Wobble Wobble
Great chair at first. Now the hardware has so much play in it, I have trouble staying comfortable.Great padding and very comfortable, but almost unusable. I got this because of the high weight rating as I am 300lbs.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and Comfortable
The leather is soft, and has a nice feel to it. The directions were clear and easy to understand. I was able to assembled the chair in about 30 min. Chair seems of good quality with more support on the head and neck when someone lean back. The parts are packed in the back of the chair. The padding is great and the chair is quite comfortable. The seat cushion is also double padded.
