5.0 out of 5 stars Overall great, but...
The queen mold is distorted in my set, otherwise it's really good. The molds are sturdy, and the details are very nice. I highly suggest getting a holder though. It's pretty easy to knock one over and then it's like a domino effect. LolI ended up reaching out to Let's Resin about the queen piece and they sent me a whole new set. I highly recommend. 😊
5.0 out of 5 stars Good set but you need to be patient
Be sure to work out all the air bubble when pouring your pieces and you will have a great set. Just take your time! You also need to be patient with the unfolding process. The molds are well made but chess pieces are very detailed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Really cool
The molds are crisp and sharp. I love being able to layer different colors on the pieces. I made this for my son who is a fan of all Chicago baseball teams. I embellished it with embroidered patches of baseballs, a vintage Cubs logo, and a vintage White Sox logo. I suggest doing the board in one pour, since it's very difficult to blend with multiple pours. If you zoom in on the photos, you'll see the imperfections.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love how it turned out.
So I love how it turned out. At the end, I will note why I did not give it. Five stars. I found it was best to do each color individually for the boxes and let it dry to avoid any bleeding. After the piece was dry, the edges were wet sanded and gold leaf was applied. I did a top coat, so there were no grooves. It was fun finishing it off with some gold leaf.Regarding the chess pieces: Make sure you get epoxy at the bottom of the chess piece mold so there’s no space. When I was thorough, they all came out flawless. The chess pieces are annoying to remove the mold in the beginning, but once I knew, I wasn’t gonna break it, it became routine. The reason I did not give this five stars: Unfortunately the mold stuck to the side of the chessboard. I was able to remove it with a deburring, knife and sand down the edges before applying gold leaf.I’ve had to purchase a new one because after using the mold once it ripped. I am not going to use a torch on the next mold, and only used a heat gun (lightly) for Bubbles. It’ll be nice to have a second set of the chess pieces so I can get them all done at The saoverall I’m really happy with it. I knew I wasn’t getting a very expensive mold to begin with.my time. I’m hoping the next one is more durable, but will definitely comment if it’s not. Overall I’m really happy with it. I knew I wasn’t getting a very expensive mold to begin with.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this kit
Easy to work with and love the colors that come with it
3.0 out of 5 stars Chess pieces
The pieces are really flimsy to me. They are perfect size for the board. The design is spot on. They maybwork perfectly for someone else but not for me
5.0 out of 5 stars Great mold !!
The media could not be loaded. We were on the hunt for a “pretty” chess set and that search led me to Etsy for resin ones. I’m already into resin , even have a small store front, and decided I’d just make it myself. This was very easy - looked at some YouTube tutorials for tips and it came out perfect ! Will highly recommend!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this purchace
Please pardon the messy work station in the pictures! This was my first resin project and I think it went pretty well. I messed up the checkerboard pattern by going too fast. Completely user error that time but I don't hate the marble look. I would recommend letting the first color set a little before adding the second color. PLEASE make sure your workspace is level! I didnt think it was a big deal... it was. As far as getting the pieces out, the knight was surprisingly the easiest for me and I would say the rook was the hardest. Also be sure to squeeze out the little detailed parts so there won't be any bubbles, I missed a few and now a pawn looks chiped! The checkers are super easy, however the crown design can be hard to see, depending on lighting and the coloring used. It was really fun pulling the mold off of the board! As is also in the picture, I did use other molds while making this set to make sure I didn't waste any resin. Everything in the last picture is 32oz of resin. Hopefully that will give you an idea of how much you will need for this project. All of the colors I used were included in the set. Good size and I really like the bags that come with the set to hold the pieces. I do plan on making this set again many times in different colors as I learn and get better. I don't really have a complaint as of yet. I'm a beginner and I'm still afraid I may rip the molds, but that hasn't happened yet!
Súper hermoso
The media could not be loaded. Me encantó para hacer juegos
Super
Ich bin großartig Hochwertiges Material, ich kann es kaum erwarten, mit ihnen zu arbeiten.
Bien
Bonne qualité
Great results with resin pieces
Does what it says on the box - need to be careful removing the resin or you can tear the stabilizing pieces from the top of the piece molds off which is unfortunate; great quality pieces come out.
Chess Board
Great purchase.
