This will keep the stray wires from causing a problem when you are cramming a wire into a tiny terminal. It's the equivalent of twisting and tinning the wire, but no need to warm up the soldering iron.

So, I was initially skeptical, but another reviewer said these were a great value and actually tin-plated copper. I was pleasantly surprised after cutting one open to find that was exactly the case. Most electrical termination products aren't as high quality, but these exceeded expectations.
