5.0 out of 5 stars Nice dock with a flaw

    k. · May 23, 2024

I've become obsessed with 1 plug desktop setups, so when I found this dock with TB3 and all of the output options for under $100, I almost immediately pulled the trigger. It sits nicely on the desk, while having a reassuring weight to it. You can tell it's a high quality build, and it looks sleek and clean on the desk. HDMI pass-thru works flawlessly at 2k 60hz. It has plenty of ports for expansion (which I intend to use). The flaw is with the headphone output. I had the exact same experience as another reviewer: an audible pop when not playing audio, and on day 2, after resuming from sleep, the USB headphone output no longer shows up as a sound device. Kensington should consider upgrading the DAC in the next version of the product. There are a number of inexpensive chips that do a good job of removing any digital noise from the line. All in all, I'm very impressed with this dock (after a day of use), so I won't dock it the star, yet. Will update if that changes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible value used

    A.K. · October 10, 2024

Context: I bought a used - like new unit.My needs are not extravagant: single external monitor, couple/few USB-A devices, couple/few USB-C devices. At $55 this is an incredible value to be able to switch to the single cable life.My monitor runs just fine at 4K 60hz, I have ports-a-plenty for my various USB devices. No delays to wake up after tapping the keyboard (something I've experienced with USB hubs). The single con, as stated by another reviewer, is that the ethernet port does not get gigabit throughput. It is throttled by a MacOS driver issue with Apple Silicon macs. I'm getting between 500-700 mbps instead. Enough to saturate my fiber internet, but moving files over LAN suffers. Oh well, I'll survive somehow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic with no dropouts

This is really a steal of a deal! The dock connects to my M2 MacBook Pro nicely and gave me all of the ported I needed. After waking the laptop from sleep, everything is on including hdmi and all connected hard drives. A lot of people have complained a lot other docks getting hard drive disconnected errors or the HDMI screen not turning back on and needing to unplug and reconnect things but not with this dock! If all you need is one pass through Thunderbolt than a Thunderbolt 3 dock that is reliable like this is perfect. It is very solidly built with all aluminum casing and connections are very solid. It has more of the feel of a dock $300 or more but I got this one for $56. That’s amazing for this quality. And it is very quiet with no coil whine. I was looking for a dock for quite a bit of time and thinking of ones a lot more expensive but this one is it for me. If it has the connections you need, buy it - it is very stable and better than a lot of $300 docks that have plastic with them. God bless and enjoy!

Lot's of USB slots, stable power delivery when using laptops and bunch of usb things. I'm now using FHD and QHD extra display and works well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy brick of dock. It should easily charge a laptop. USB 3.2 / Thunderbolt port.

    C. · July 19, 2024

Sturdy, heavy, rather good looking. USB 3.2 ports and a pass thru Thunderbolt 3 port.I wish there was an option to switch it off with computer shutdown. It stays powered until you turn off its power.

Works just as expected. I have two Dell monitors and using this for my M3 Pro MacBook. Works great!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Thunderbolt 3 docking Station

    P. · August 27, 2024

I bought this Kensington Thunderbolt 3 docking station to expand my MacBook Pro M3 Ports and it does not disappoint. The two front facing usb c ports are 10Gbps, the rear usb c ports are thunderbolt 3 of which one is dedicated host port, so I’m not losing my thunderbolt ports which still is two.The there are 4 usb a ports one of which is 10Gbps. The Ethernet port works well and the headphone jack too. I use it mainly to connect my midi keyboard and my audio interface.I also have my Logic Pro library on external drive which is also connected to the TB3 dock. Lastly I have a LG 27 inch 4K monitor also connected to it via its HDMI 2.0 port. The dock also charges my MacBook Pro at 96W which is better than the 70W included charger. Only downside for me is the light stays on no matter if the MacBook is plugged in or not.All in all this dock is very well priced and is solid aluminium and feels really premium. Compared to other pricier options like the TS4 and TS3 the Kensington SD5560T thunderbolt 3 dock is a must have.

Excelente precio, y excelente calidad. Decidi comprar otro incluso sobre Belkin, que ha sido mi marca de confianza desde hace varios años.

    Great basic Thunderbolt device

    J. · May 9, 2024

This thing is built very well, and sits firmly vertical or horizontal because it's appropriately-heavy. It's not the most "robust" Thunderbolt device (gigabit, one HDMI, etc), but the price is right for real TB, and all devices work.

It does the job…Just buy it!

    A.S. · April 24, 2024

I love everything about this dock. It is quite heavy for a dock which I like because it is made with quality materials unlike so many docks these days with a plastic exterior. It gets quite warm if all the ports are in use but that doesn’t bother me as I hardly have to use all the ports. No download of display drivers needed, it works out of the box! Well done Kensington!

Great dock if you don't need high end features

    M. · May 2, 2024

Works great with my MacBook Pro M1. Have two 1440p monitors hooked up, one with a usb-c to displayport cable. Lots of usb ports. Would have liked an extra HDMI or displayport. Quite heavy and the power brick is massive but haven't had any issues so far! Also works as a usb-c dock with my Windows laptops. Only one monitor output through the HDMI port but that's a limitation of my laptop.

Supports 5K display through Thunderbolt! Perfect for Macbook Pro

    J.M. · March 23, 2024

I just bought two of these, one for my home office and one for my office-office. This dock is fantastic! Even though it's specified for 4K only, it fully supports my LG Ultrafine 5K display, running at 60hz and 10bit color depth. And the ability to charge via thunderbolt at 96W means that it's able to match the power draw of my 2019 16" Macbook Pro.I've been looking for a thunderbolt dock for ages, but I've never been able to justify the price. With this Dock you only get one downstream Thunderbolt port, but if that's all you need (like me) this dock is perfect. It's really heavy so it won't slide around on your desk, and has a nice industrial look.If this dock has the inputs/outputs you need, then go for it. The quality is fantastic.-T
