I wanted to get something that used real water vs. gel. I am not sure what is in the 'gel'. But also, because I didn't want to have to continually buy these gel pouches. This humidifier lets me add water when needed.

absorption is great, release over time is rapid so good for bringing up the humidity fast. The only negative thing I experienced the the metal mesh screen at the top of the absorption pad rusted very fast. I simply removed the screen as it is only for visual effect.

Bought this to condition my wine fridge conversion humidor. Added some Lifestyle Basics Cigar Humidor propylene glycol solution and it has held a consistent 72% humidity for months now. Easy to add glycol as needed to keep humidity at the perfect for my cigars. Highly recommend this product!,

The humidor was not maintaining the proper humidity. Every placed the small humidifier with this one and it pumped up my humidity. Just as advertise. Doesn't leak. No off putting smell.

The humidifier that came with my cigar box wasn't cutting it. Ordered this and bam! it started working immediately. Its double the size of the one that came the box and you just need just a little water (instructions say just a few drops but I did much more than that, I ran faucet over it with hot water) got a little too humid but was able to redo it and its holding steady between 69% - 72%. I am in CO so much drier here so this variation of humidity works well for me. Cigars are in great shape.
