How can I control the rate of temperature increase while using DJI Action 2?
When the DJI Action 2 is installed with the magnetic protective case, DJI Action 2 will now have a plastic heat-resistant material, and the temperature range are also broadened, which can greatly decrease the situation of recording interruptions due to overheating.
Note
1. Only the Action 2 camera unit is waterproof.The front touchscreen module and power module are not waterproof. It is recommended to use the DJI Action 2 Waterproof Case if you intend on using DJI Action 2 underwater for long periods (such as when diving) or under high water pressure conditions (such as when cliff diving). The DJI Action 2 Camera Unit and its Waterproof Case have an IP68 waterproof rating. Do not use the camera in hot springs or expose it to corrosive liquids.
2.When recording 4K/120fps, Action 2 will stop filming when the set Auto-Stop Rec Temp is reached. If set as Standard, 4K/120fps video can be recorded for around 3 minutes. If set to High, 4K/120fps video can be recorded for around 5 minutes. Using the DJI Action 2 Magnetic Protective Case helps reduce surface temperature to optimize video recording by increasing recording length under normal conditions. In countries and regions that support setting Auto-Stop Rec Temp as High, the recording time is about 10 minutes in an indoor environment of 25 °C with the protective case mounted.
3.Maximum battery life was achieved when recording video at 1080p/30fps (Power Reserve mode) with electronic image stabilization disabled and under lab conditions.

I like versatility and the magnet form factor let's me be creative. Yes unit warms up if you record stationary and in warm environment. However attaching with battery pack gives more tolerance to heat. Microphone recording was the biggest surprise! If not windy, output was clear and not muffled or tinny. Im a filmmaker and having secondary mic placement is great for coverage!

At first I was a bit hesitant to get the Action 2 because it looks different, but after looking at a few Youtube reviews I got really interested because the modular design actually makes the Action 2 more adaptive than usual cameras. Whereas the GP10 got heavier, the Action 2 got lighter compared to its predecessor. It is more comparable to the modular Insta 360 One R but I preferred the Action 2 because you can't go wrong with DJI. 4k videos are buttery smooth and I really enjoy the wider FOV. Cropping for stabilization is very acceptable and horizon levelling is better than a GoPro. The Action 2 has tons of features and I really like gesture and voice commands so you can take videos and photos even when you're on your own. The DJI Mimo App is really helpful for some light editing work and for sharing files.I have both the DJI Pocket 2 and the Action 2 and both have their uses. For vloggers and for those who want a tough handy device that can virtually do anything you want with it, the Action 2 is a must have. I've put the Action 2 through the wringer and it has survived time and time again. I can't say enough good things about this thing.

I love this camera in its design. It's like DJI listened being very forward thinking and revolutionary but some things were not worked out before they released this.This takes a rip from the Mocacam. Except the Mococam was nowhere near this level of quality but the concept is the same. Same magnetic modular concept.But we're not here to talk about that camera we're talking about this Action 2. Let's go over the 5 aspects a camera should be.Image quality: Its good. Good colors clarity its there for an action camera. On par with the leading competitors. Good POV 4x zoom nice controls Pro option for a little more hands on adjustments.Image stabilization: It is one of the best without a mechanical 3axis gimble. Again on par with the leading competitor. Nice horizon lock and options. Its quite good and a leader in this area.Audio: Records Good audio. Good playback speaker as well. But ya gotta be in a somewhat quiet area. No need for audio boosts in post. The recording gets better using the attachable module. More mics 👍Audio input: External mic input. I can plug in my mics with USBC. Trying to find an adapter from 3.5mm to USB C ... 😐 Good thing I have mics with USB C.Waterproof: The camera is waterproof but only the main camera not the secondary screen or battery pack with SD card. 😕So this is pretty cool and I like it for the most part. They came up with the simple magnetic lanyard that I have been making myself with magnets for mounting on my shirt for years. I use round magnets that you can purchase anywhere. I started this with the Snapcam as there was no stability in wearing a camera around your neck. Its a simple thing.The magnets on this camera are strong and it's backed up with clips 👍 must have read my Mocacam review. 😆...🤨This comes with good attachments. Gopro style mount a table top stand the lanyard you can screw on to a 1/4 20. I like this camera. It's pretty good but could use some updates and changes. So if I like this why does it only get 1 star? ....This thing overheats fast. It gets hot in 5 min. Not warm HOT. Even not recording in 4k. In 4k depending on ambient conditions the camera too hot warning im going to turn off and if your not paying attention to my screen because you're focused on your video you're not going to know and get mad later warning comes on in 10min - 20min 😳 in 1080p there's a power reserve setting and I can go 35min before the warning but the camera is hot. Right now it's a nice hand warmer 👌 it's about 50deg.Battery life is tricky. The main camera can get about 35-40min before the red bar. And you kinda think we'll it is tiny so... but my Hero Session goes way longer. So does my Drift Compass. Even my Polaroid Cube goes longer. 😮But I still like this camera.The other thing that I have complained about to DJI because I have the Action, 4 Pocket 1 and 2s and gimbles and whatnot is the Activation and App. It took me hours of downloading and redownloading and turning off just about all my security measures on my phone to download this intrusive spyware app. I tried from the Playstore and it did not work and had to go to their website. The Action 2 isn't even listed. So scan again and again the QR code, my phone even gives me a warning that downloading from this site could damage my phone. 🤨 I sign away all my security just to activate this camera. 😡We all know it's a data grab. Why do you need access and control to all of my phone. Contacts text messages why are you tracking me? I said I would never purchase another DJI product because of this because it does compromise your security. Spam and Eggs.. But this was a camera I thought of and DJI made it. The price tho is a bit high at $520. When action cams go over $400 ... 🤡Is this a camera you should go out and buy? No. You're not going to be happy with its flaws. Is this a camera you buy because you're a camera nut like me and can live with its quirks because the revolutionary outweighs the quirks. Yes. I will say though you probably should wait for a price drop and I have a feeling this will go on sale for Black Friday. 😉

The media could not be loaded. i heard about DJI Action 2 when it released. quiet interested into its size and functions that this little thing can do. compared it with Gopro 9 and 10 before i made my decision, i chose DJI Action 2. coz the bigger sensor can provide better images overall especially in low light condition. i like traveling, when night comes, to use DJI Action 2 to mount on the car, and film the city twilight, it can add so much fun footage into the story. Gopro are pretty much non-functional in the dark while the Action 2 can still perform.it has 4 mics around it so the sound it records is very clear, even you use the Front Touchscreen Module. very versatile.the magnetic is a great design that you dont need many accessories then you can mount it anywhere you like. so the angle you can adjust is so much more! i also like that it allows me to level the horizon even recording in 4k. the app is also easy to use.quiet a great design. only used for several days after i received it, would like to explore more.

I like the size of this unit. It is a tiny square that records video. I will admit, we all have cell phones at this point. There are times I feel my cell gets better results, but I love the form factor and the magnetic bottom allows for some pretty creative location this can be hung. I purchased this as a "C cam" for an interview series I was shooting. I thought it would live in my bag, but I actually used this thing every shoot I went on. I used it for establishing shots and as a BTS camera. Be aware it will overheat on the higher frame-rates an resolutions. You can set it to shut off at a higher temp. I keep it stock to eliminate battery damage from the heat. Over all this is a cool little unit. There is an updated model that just dropped. I am not regretting this purchases at all and probably will not "upgrade".

Excelente cámara, resolución perfecta y muy cómoda y práctica. Si se calienta un poco pero es cuando le exiges demasiado. En resolución 1080/30 funciona sin problemas. 90 min.

Acheter lors d'une promotion Bolo a 225€ en bundle double écran extension de batterie !Avant de me l'offrir j'avais regarder énormément de review sur le produit, il en ressort surtout un problème de surchauffe que j'ai constaté lors de mes tests en intérieur mais qui n'a jamais été un problème pendant mes sessions a l'extérieur en condition réel avec mon utilisation et mes besoins.La qualité est au rendez-vous clairement cette caméra est robuste, la qualité d'image est très bonne et la stabilisation est bluffante, bref pour mes besoins c'est parfait je ne vais pas en rajouter je suis satisfait.Maintenant je conseille d'ajouter des filtres ND, ND/PL ou/et CPL pour améliorer la qualité des rushs comme pour tout type de caméra moderne cela est permet clairement une meilleure fluidité de l'image en améliorant la qualité perçue même sur cette petite caméra.Je conseille aussi vivement d'ajouter des protections d'écran et d'objectif qui ne coûte que quelques euros et permet vraiment d'éviter beaucoup de déconvenues.Si vous pensez l'utiliser de manière intensive, vous pouvez envisager d'acheter un module de batterie supplémentaire vendue séparément car l'autonomie pour une journée d'utilisation intensive peut être limité même si la recharge est rapide au cas ou vous n'aurez pas de chargeur externe ou de prise de courant a disposition.En conclusion c'est une caméra très compacte qui offre une qualité haut de gamme facile a utiliser et ergonomique, attention a la surchauffe et l'autonomie c'est effectivement un risque mais qui dépend vraiment de vos besoins et exigences (en drone fpv, saut en parachute ou escalade.. malheureusement cela dépendra d'autant plus les facteurs..)C'est une alternative intéressante surtout aujourd'hui a ce niveau de tarif aux traditionnel GoPro.Je précise encore que je l'ai obtenu a 225€ ce qui est clairement intéressant au niveau rapport qualité prix mi-2024 mais cette caméra n'a cependant jamais valu les 500€ a sa sorti.Je conseille quand même cette caméra sous réserve que vous vous renseignez correctement sur vos besoins et vos exigences, c'est une caméra d'action qui n'est pas optimale pour toutes les activités mais c'est le sacrifice d'un produit aussi compacte, cependant vous ne serez pas déçu par la qualité et le soin que DJI offre a cette appareil.
Great POV camera
So far it's been very good for me. It has got a bad claim that it overheats and I don't know if it's true or not yet, but I am pretty sure I won't get my video stopped because it is an action camera and I use it as such, not as a videography camera to shoot movies. Action sports don't require 4k 120p. you just need to hit the button when something interesting is going to happen, and this camera is lighting fast, it won't take more than a second to turn on and start recording.Image quality and stabilization is of the best out there.
