5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, efficient and affordable! actually i
Using it has been a fantastic experience. It performs exactly as advertised, making my daily tasks more manageable and enjoyable. The features are user-friendly, and I appreciate how intuitive the design is. It seamlessly integrates into my routine, saving me both time and effort.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works flawlessly, Easy to set up
You might’ve used Plug-in timers in the past to turn off and on lights. These are actually cheaper than a plug-in timer, they allow easy scheduling on an app and monitoring remotely from anywhere. They’re super easy to Program and use. Highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
Easy set up and works great with Alexa
4.0 out of 5 stars Really useful!
Bought these to automatically turn on and off the lights in my reptile terrariums, whether I’m at home or off on a trip for a few days. They are super cool little appliances that were fairly easy to set up, and I’m surprised they are so affordable.Only giving 4 stars because the app is lacking in some areas. At first, I was putting in my wifi password incorrectly while pairing, and the app didn’t say that my password was incorrect but just that the pairing had “timed out” or “failed” and it suggested I move closer to my router. This led me to believe there was something wrong with my connection or the product rather than my password simply being incorrect. There are also quite a bit of typos in the app, and the home location feature doesn’t seems to do or mean anything because it changes to your current location every time you open it and never stays set. I also haven’t figured out how to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit, I’m not sure that it’s an option (not that it matters because I think it’s displaying the temp of my current location and not my house).Overall, great product for things you need to turn off and on remotely or without being right beside the switch. App needs work but that can always be improved in software updates.
5.0 out of 5 stars So so easy to install
We have used Wi-Fi plugs before and they always seemed fussy. They were difficult to set-up, stopped working for no reason. These were amazingly easy. The app detected each one after it was plugged in. I activated Alexa from the G app, then switched to the Alexa app to give each plug a name. We can now turn on and off the lamps on our nightstands with our heads on the pillow.
1.0 out of 5 stars Defective plugs no longer work properly.
I have an Ubiquiti network with many Access Points. The system works really well and I've had no issues. I have about 70 devices on a network capable of over 1000 devices.Over the last few years I purchased a few of the Gosund smart outlets. They worked very well. They require a 2.4GHz network as they won't work at the 5GHz level. That's fine. I have other wireless smart devices that are 2.4 GHz only also and they are working fine.I purchased 2 - 4 packs of the smart plugs that are now labled GHome. I have had nothing but problems. To setup, you need to first download the latest version of the app for the device. Then create or conenct a wireless network that is only 2.4GHz, not shared with a 5GHz. Connect your phone to the 2.4GHz network and then add the device once it is pluged into an outlet.Even if I try to set the device up a few feet from an access point, they usually fail at being added. I can get them to connect after many tries, but they then go "off-line" without any changes. They have all been checked for the latest firmware and have been reset to factory over and over. I have contacted support a few times and get the standard "It's your network". When I let them know I have other devices including other Gosund devices, they say things like:"A home router can only support 16-20 devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc."Wow, really, Thanks for the expert analysis :).I finally purchased 4 TP-link Kasa EP25's from Bolo. They all connected immediately and work perfectly on the network. I even went back and reset one GHome from each box and they both failed. There has to be some design or manufacturing defect in the new devices. Manufacturers keep reducing the quality of devices over time to make money. These are useless.Save yourself major issues and just go with the TP-Links. They are more money, but they actually work.By the way, I own an IT company that just had it's 30th anniversary. I've done this a few times, LOL.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great- Clunky Siri integration
These things are amazing. They take about 30 seconds to set up and pair if you follow the in-app instructions. They allow you to set automations, control with tap-to-run etc. There is also a button on the side to control it manually. I was worried the light around the button was going to be too bright, but that is no problem at all, and it's hardly noticeable in a dark room unless you're looking directly at it.This is NOT compatible with apple home, however, you can create Siri shortcuts with it, so there is kind of a workaround. Just keep in mind that for this to work well, you have to get somewhat comfortable using the shortcuts app, which is probably the most technical apple app there is. But once it is set up, its super handy having Siri run automations and control the lights etc.
5.0 out of 5 stars Impressed with these
I love these little smart plugs!! I do not have a "smart" home by no means but these little devices are a game changer. Fairly easy to link in the app and are so nice with ALEXA. I did have some issue with getting them set up BUT, I'm a senior that's not as tech savvy as a 5 y.o. now a days. Once I figured the first one out, the others were a breeze. I use them for lights/lamps which have been so nice coming home after dark. Just tell them to come on in the app and VIOLA...
