I don't have a lot of experience with this, but I'm confident that it'll serve me well for DIY auto work. I tested with a spark plug socket, and this can easily lift that. The flexible part holds in place, so it won't be changing its shape due to gravity as the magnet is put into position.

It is made in China not USA or Taiwan.It seems like a heavy duty tool.But that can also be a drawback if you need access to a really small hard to get to area like I do. The head is long and strong but the head length can be a problem in extremely tight spaces. Also the heavy duty gooseneck limits the flexibility. It can flex 180 degrees but it will not hold a really tight bend on it's own.All in all I think it is a good addition to my toolbox. I will likely need it sometime in the future. It would really have been good as a prime pickup tool instead of the straight one I already own. Should have bought this type first.My particular problem requires a lighter duty more malleable tool with a smaller head. I have dropped many fasteners before but this one is tough.Jay
