Below written 2022 after a bit of time with it.-Update to 3/7 belowI started with the PooBot1000 (our child and a scooper). We only had 2 cats so it was easy to maintain as long as I remember to feed, water, and bribe the PooBot1000. Then we increased our cat count and our PooBot1000 went back to school. We invested in the Litter Robot and dubbed it the PooBot2000. Huge issues with the PooBot. We returned it within days because the cons were more than we were willing to deal with. Mostly I did not enjoy watching as my smallest and youngest cat went for a ride during a cleaning.Then we discovered the Pura Max and decided to give it a go. PooBot3000 was welcomed by us, though not as much by our brood. So here is where we currently are almost 30 days since the PooBot3000 arrived. I will also note how it compares to the PooBot2000 (litter robot)Pros:1) PooBot3000 is VERY quiet. LR was not, hence the break up within days of joining our home2) PooBot3000 accepts all the clumping litters. Organic, clay, plant based, etc. LR was only a clay loving PooBot and since we hate clay, it was not good for us.3) PooBot3000 has and app so you can monitor who and when had a "business trip" LR just lets you know it ran, but not who or when.4) PooBot3000 has a larger "fill bucket" with an enclosed lid. Keeps the odors in. The bucket is even big enough that if you want to dump and flush with your flushable clumping litter, you can keep using the plastic bags as a liner and not replace as often. Not the LR. Stinky from the get go.5) PooBot3000 has a deodorizing diffuser that releases tiny whisps of pearish smelling deodorizer with each "business trip" for each feline.6) PooBot3000 is very easy to put together, set up and clean. LR was easy enough to put together, but for a deep clean it was a bit much.7) PooBot3000 has a smaller footprint. LR was huge and looked like an alien pod coming down to scoop up your kitties.8) Good sensors on the PooBot3000. There is one moment that the sensors are not triggered. When you kitty approaches the PooBot3000 and the mouth of the barrel is below the lid of the unit, the sensors do not work. That said, it is in the final stages of cleaning and only leveling the barrel. I have watch my kitty tuck her head in on multiple occasions to see what PooBot3000 is doing stealing her poops and she has never been harmed. When the PooBot3000 starts rotating for the cleaning cycle, it stops every time same kitty approaches to investigate the poop stealing. LR, never stopped. She went for one too many rides. Some have reported it was a glitch, but having to clean and console my floof post ride was not fun.Cons: (less con and more be aware)1) Some have had issues with the PooBot3000 app connection. But, just like the LR, which also had reports of connection issues, you can manually push for the PooBot to clean as needed.2) For my brood, the opening is small and they are not in love. That said, 5 out of 7 are now finally using it nearly 30 days later. LR, only 2 were interested. The rest said no thank you and ran away from the very loud noise it made when cleaning. We currently have a standard litter box and the PooBot3000 for our 7 cat home. 3/7/2023 update-We now have all 7 using and are considering adding a second box due to great customer service and ease of use of the product3) If you have high pee-ers, the wee can go up the side and then leak between where the mat and unit connect. This results in wee under the rotating barrel. Simple fix is to use a bit of silicone along the edge of the inner litter mat and the unit. -Update 3/7-PetKit has created a new drum to address the issue.4) PooBot3000 must be on a hard surface to ready your pet's weight and to work properly. Some have reported getting some pavers and setting their unit on that. LR seems to be ready to work on any surface (hey, I found a pro)5) Smaller company so customer service is not as fast to respond and the in state numbers are usually a message you can leave. With some diligence and continued calling, you do finally get to speak with a person, but she usually advises you send an email. She is lovely though. 3/7/2023 Update. She is still very sweet and amazing. Customer service is still fantastic and responsive and the really great thing now is if a call is missed, they are diligent in calling back. Still a smaller company, which I would now add is not so much a con, but more an awareness. Works in our favor because they are committed to really getting it right and hearing you.6) Dumping litter in and out of it is not as convenient as your standard litter box where you just pour it in. LR was the same and you find a way that works for you. For us, we start the clean and then cover the sensor when the opening is facing the ceiling. We add litter from there and then recalibrate. To dump the litter, we take the deodorizer door off the side and dump it into the trash from there.So that is where I am at this moment with my PooBot3000 experiment. I have yet to find a PooBot that doesn't have some issue to it. The goal is more to find a PooBot with issues that can be easily overcome. For our home, as of now, the cons are not enough for us to say goodbye to the particular PooBot.I do hope this review helps for those that are trying to decide what to do.3/7/2023 add-Again, cannot rave enough about the customer service. The lovely lady called me back, chatted for a good 20 minutes and heard everything I shared. Love this.
1.0 out of 5 stars Please Read- Design Flaw Causes Urine Leak
I purchased this litter box a little over a month ago after reading many good reviews. The majority of the reviews also favorably compared the litter box to Litter Robot 3 which I was also considering.Pros:- The device does work and is capable of efficiently sifting through litter and poop clumps and depositing them in the trash bin automatically. There are also many different settings you can use. It is convenient to simply remove the liner and throw it out.Minor annoyances:- Occasionally the machine will display a cat in the litter box alert and not clean. Usually it will reset on its own or I have to manually press the button on the machine. It’s annoying but not a dealbreaker.Cons:- The machine is very cumbersome to fully clean. You can do weekly maintenance by wiping down the inner drum with a cleaning wipe which is fine, but to deep clean it fully with water is very awkward given the size and numerous nooks and crannies.- There is a design flaw with the inner liner. I had read several reviews regarding urine leaking and collecting on the bottom of the device. At the time I thought it may have been a rare occurrence and not typical of most users’ experience. However, I suspect that this is happening on most devices and just may have not been detected by others since the device otherwise works well. The liner is supposed to be replaceable- however, by making it replaceable there is a gap between the plastic edge of the liner and the casing. This allows for urine to seep through the gap and leak on the underside of the machine. If allowed to accumulate, it can cause a horrible urine smell. I didn’t realize this was happening until after the first week of use when I noticed a smell from the litter box and discovered this leak to my horror. I contacted customer service and they first stated it was a problem with the liner and sent a replacement. The replacement took 2 weeks to arrive since it was coming from China. Replacing the liner didn’t solve the problem which is when I figured out why it’s leaking. The support team then recommended tape and told me they would send it, to arrive in 2-3 weeks. Not sure why a) they didn’t send it in the first place and b) why I have to fix a $600 machine with tape.- Minimal customer support. You take a risk buying this device because the support team is located in China. The customer service is not comparable to most US companies- eg, offering to replace the unit, offer partial refunds, etc.Overall:The device works fairly well but has a fundamental design flaw that has to be fixed with tape. This is pretty ludicrous for $600. The customer service is located in China and any replacement parts take at least 2 weeks to come to the US. I would have returned the device and tried the Pura X, but customer service assured me their solution would work (it didn’t) and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. By the time the replacement part arrived, I was outside the 30 day Bolo return window. I didn’t have any issues with internet connectivity as some other reviews have mentioned. If I had known about this design flaw, I would not have bought this and instead tried the Pura X based on reviews. Hope this helps.UPDATE: Tape did not solve the problem, the machine still leaks. My guess is there are numerous defect devices where the casing seams are not watertight and allow leakage of urine.

Mi idea era ya no batallar con estar limpiando el arenero a diario o cada ciertos días y buscar una forma de eliminar los olores, este arenero llegó a facilitar eso. Al principio se me hizo muy caro y me sentía indecisa por los comentarios pero hasta el momento es la mejor inversión que pude hacer. Sólo me preocupo de retirar la bolsa del recipiente cada 2 semanas (aprox), no se desperdicia arena como decía en otros comentarios pero creo que eso va a depender de la marca que uno use, yo use una de PETKIT y Scoop Away y todo bien, y lo mejor de todos ya no mas olores.

I’ve had this litter box for a couple months now and it’s been a game changer for my 18yo domestic shorthair. It is completely silent (aside from the sound of the litter moving) when cleaning.LITTER WASTE BIN: I use pea husk litter which works with the red grate just fine. I will point out that alternative litters like the pea husk, tofu or wood chip ones will fill the waste bin faster due to the way they clump. If you use the standard sand which has more compact clumps, I have found that the bin will in fact last 15 days for ONE cat if the bin bag is put in properly.CLEANING THE BOX: The first time my cat used the box, she wasn't sure about it and peed slightly outside which resulted in a puddle of pee collecting between the rotating sphere and the bottom. However, this machine is very easy to take apart and clean. The mess and the box were cleaned in under 20 mins and there hasn’t been a single problem since. There are labels for how to put the box back together. My cat does pee directly downwards and not horizontally/on the sides of the box, so I personally have had no issues with the liner.APP CAPABILITIES: Since I only have one cat, tracking is not a problem. However, I do find that the app will sometimes not recognize my cat if her weight changes at all. If you have multiple cats, and one may be on a weight loss/gain diet, you may have trouble tracking who is using the box. Otherwise, the app works great, giving me a push notification anytime the waste bin needs changing, telling you how much time is left on the deodorizers and when they run their cycles. I set the box to clean 15 minutes after my cat leaves the box since sometimes she likes to do her business in 2 parts.DEODORIZER: This will not spray when your cat is in the box. It also does not have a strong scent that will scent the litter in any way that may disturb your cat either. The app will tell you when it goes off and does a wonderful job at eliminating odours. I have the box in a small space with no windows nearby and I have never had a problem with the smell, even when the bin was full.Overall this is a great way to ensure that busy pet owners can have peace of mind about your cat(s) having a clean box every time they go, and makes it easier for those who don’t have the ability to clean it multiple times per day.

I was hesitant because i wasn’t sure i’d receive the new version. Thankfully it was the new version, it comes with everything mentioned and in the picture. It also comes with the clay mesh, and the plastic cover attachment to empty the litter. So far so good.EDIT: i have been having alot of Odor coming out of the litter box, i have done hours upon hours of research and no one seems to have this issue, and the people who did were told to check the sealed door to the waste bin. I have been cleaning it literally every 2 days with detergents and whatnot… i must have gone through 3 10L litter bags changing litter and nothing changed the odor was always so strong. Upon taking the drum out and checking.. the “sealed” door was tilted and it wasn’t closed all the way there was a gap from the left side between the waste bin and sealed door. I have returned and made a new order for a new unit in hopes that this was just a manufacturing fault. Otherwise this “sealed door” is not sealed at all.

Received the latest revision with updated drum, my cat has started using it and so far so good. The air purifier and ability to weigh your cat via the PetKit app is very smart. My only concern is the lifespan and reliability of sensors etc but I guess time will tell. So far worth its money in gold
