If you are looking for a portable or hanging Bluetooth speaker for your mancave or sheshack, look NO further! Going frm a 2 1/2 yr old Sony XB-100 can speaker, this JBL Clip 4 is like going from a cassette tape to digital remasters! I am a musician, and can not only hear vocal harmonies, but as a bassist, can also CLEARLY hear every instrument and even if the drummer is keeping time on the hi-hat or the ride symbol! My fav playlist (Apple Music “Classic Rick Weekend playlist”) ranges from Bad company to BOC to Pink Floyd to Ozzy to Steely Dan, etc., and ALL are SO clear! The other reviews are spot on as midrange definitely punches through, but I can also solidly hear the lead guitar parts as well as the bass line, so although a higher midrange, the treble and bass does not suffer any squelch. No, this lil fella won’t fill a room full of people with music. Bodies soak up frequency(especially midrange) and depending on where soeaker is located, you’re then limited to either high bass or treble. BUT, for what the Clip 4 is designed (portable on-the-go or medium space rooms), it is absolutely perfect. It is best hanging (I suggest al least a foot above and behind your seat) to get full band, bass and vocals.It is just day one, so if any issues arise, I will revise rating and review. Before buying, consider the space you intend to use it in! There are reviews on here where people clearly bought the wrong JBL speaker for their intended use, and therefore have brought its rating down from where it should be. Again, I give it FIVE stars and have already recommended it to my co-workers and friends.

This is the perfect little speaker to take anywhere. We use it to add ambiance by a fire or when we go camping, even in the boat or just outside chilling with friends. It’s not super loud or bass-y but it’s loud enough and adds a great ambiance to any setting.
