I’m actually a cat breeder, and I have tried a few different options for safely ‘containing’ our kittens in their awkward stages where they want to leave their nest and explore new rooms of the house, but they’re too young to trust them unattended because they could hurt themselves climbing places they shouldn’t, or getting lost. This playpen is amazing! Yes it’s mesh and they can climb it, but it’s tall enough they don’t have the courage to climb up and out until they’re large enough and old enough to safely explore our home anyway. It serves its use well!!It’s tall enough too that our adult cats don’t like jumping over it, so when not being used for kittens, we use the panels for blocking off in front of our door, so we can open it to bring in packages and not have the cats go running out. This pic shows me using just 4 panels, using all of them makes a huge play area! The panels are so easy to fold up and connect, I’m able to put the playpen out for an afternoon, and the fold it up and put it away in just a few seconds once the kittens are ready to go back to their nursery room for the day!!This pen is everything I wanted. If you were using it for kids it seems very sturdy and safe lol! It can take multiple kittens climbing on it, jumping from it, clawing on it and still looks virtually good as new 😂Oh it was also a snap to put together!! Whoever designed this thing made it idiot-proof lol! I had no problems putting the panels together on my own. Thanks for the great product! 😊❤️ It has been a fantastic value for the price!
5.0 out of 5 stars The best thing we have bought for our kid
We are so grateful for this product, I want to write a review (which I rarely do). It's huge, kid doesn't feel trapped and is happy for long periods, can also get speed up and crawl in circles like a nascar driver. I'm sure this doesn't apply to 100% of negative reviews, but there are different size panels by design, so i imagine the reviews i read about getting mismatched pieces that didn't fit were just people assembling gung ho without reading the instructions.also, this is perfect for us, but it may not be for all depending on your floor type. we have smooth tiled floor and made up a foldable 2" mattress to go perfectly inside, so the suction cups do their job on the smooth tiles. nonetheless, when in rectangular shape, the straight joint in between the 90 degree joints does flex out a little when kid is putting all his weight on it, moving the cups. I fixed this with two thin cords holding the opposite straight joints together, which the mattress covers, and the mattress also prevents the opposite straight join from moving in if kid is pushing on the other side. if you have carpet and don't want to use a mattress, the cord thing won't be a good option, but i think putting it in octagon shape with equal angles on all joints would solve the flexing, which will be worse because the suction cups will be useless. you need the suction cups to stop the thing moving everywhere as it is fairly light weight. again our inner mattress also negates that issue.it's well made for what it is, but it will probably break on you if you treat things rough or don't know how to care for such things. I think it will last us a long time. you just have to take care to lift the latch properly (high enough) when releasing the locking mechanism so you don't burr the plastic pieces of the joint. i know un-mechanically minded people who wouldn't be able to care for this, but we can.the foldable part is good, but only if it works for you to leave it intact and fold the short sides in on themselves and have a 2 meter long folded item. that works for us, but it might get pretty annoying pretty quick if you need to dismantle one of the joints every night to do the full fold up. That said, the joint dismantle for full foldup is not difficult, just shove the supplied screwdriver up inside one leg from the bottom and it disconnects.we love it, well made, but think about your floor type and storage options.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good playpen
This is a pretty good playpen. We can have some assurance that our daughter will be safe in there while we take care of some other tasks. Assembly was very easy and went together in about an hour with my wifes help. My main issue is that the playpen doesn't fold up quite as tight as I would like, making storage a little hard.
4.0 out of 5 stars Customizable, collapsible, good for small spaces
I highly recommend this playpen. I’ve been using it for about six weeks with my 10-month old, and it’s been great. I don’t usually write reviews, but playpens are really hard to choose, so I thought I’d share with images. What I like:- In a small space, you can configure best to fit your space. I have it in a corner, and until my LO figures out how to push it, I don’t even have it connected.- I like that you can customize your use of individual panels. Currently, I’m using only 7. I plan to bring 2-3 panels on our next road trip to set up a blockade instead of a “pen” if needed.- It seems very sturdy so far, and I think it looks nice in our home. It seems like it will be easy to clean if needed, but without a bottom makes it easier to move and vacuum.- I needed customer service, and they were very responsive and helpful.- I didn’t care about the accessories originally (the pit balls and the pull-up handles), but my LO loves them!Helpful for you to know:- It’s fairly easy to assemble, but you have to be careful to distinguish front and back before zipping on mesh (not clear in instructions). Still, only took about 30 mins.- Once you lock the panels in place (so that your LO can’t change the shape), it’s not very quick to unlock and collapse. With 8 panels, there are 9 mechanisms to unlock, and they require some hand strength (to be toddler proof). Then you can collapse it to 4 x 2 panels flat, still fully connected. If you want to fold it accordion-style with all 8 panels stacked, you need a stick (like a screwdriver) to disconnect one panel. It’s not difficult, but I wish it were easier. Regardless, I don’t collapse it often anyway, so it hasn’t been an issue.I hope this helps you to make your own playpen decision!
