About this item:
The growing number of connected personal and IoT devices has led to an overall increase in network density that is pushing the limits of the current WiFi standard. RT-AX1800S is a 2x2 dual-band WiFi router that provides 80MHz bandwidth and 1024-QAM for dramatically faster wireless connections, greater coverage and improved battery life for connected devices, providing a significantly better networking experience for users. Disclaimer: Actual data throughput and WiFi coverage will vary from network conditions and environmental factors, including the volume of network traffic, building material and construction, and network overhead, result in lower actual data throughput and wireless coverage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very reliable and stable router. Perfect Aimesh function.
Have installed 2 of these in two different homes one as primary router and the 2nd as a mesh node. Networks are super stable and reliable. These are not the most powerful Asus routers but they are reliable. Very rarely need restarting and get advertised speeds on both a 300 and 500 internet connection. Have good range to cover over 3000 sq ft as a router/mesh setup. Many security and configuration settings via the web interface. Had a higher end AX-3000 router and had many issues with the 2.4ghz dropping signal. These do not have that issue and work as they should. Recommend
5.0 out of 5 stars Great price to use for AI Mesh whole-house coverage!
I bought two of these from Bolo Warehouse and they arrived as ASUS refurbished units with V1.0 hardware.I quickly learned, DO NOT follow any of the instructions if you want to set up AiMesh, and DO NOT use the app as it isn't set up (at this time) for AiMesh out of the box.Sooo...what I found worked easiest/best/quickest was to connect the WAN port of the AX1800S to the LAN port of my main router (an AX-3000) and then log into my AX-3000. Right on the main screen it acknowledged the new AX1800S and was simply click to configure it for AiMesh use (your router's software may be different, so you might have to click the AiMesh tab to start the process).Once it was set up, I disconnected the first AX1800S and then set up the 2nd one the exact same way (just to be sure there wasn't any configuration corruption between the two new units). I set them up for Ethernet backhaul as I have Ethernet wired throughout my home, and the WiFi is broadcasting the same SSID and password (none of this <network-EXT> crap). I made the guest network available on the AiMesh nodes. After I had put everything physically in place and powered them up again, I went back to the AX-3000 screen to Administration and checked for firmware updates. Both AX1800S had a new firmware release showing, so I manually updated each individually (sorry, the picture is after I had updated the firmware, but shows you where to look). For whatever reason, it took about 12 hours for the network to fully stabilize after it was installed, but it's been smooth sailing since then. My coverage is much, much better throughout the house and outdoors to my Ring cameras that would frequently not have Live views because of weak signal. My main router is downstairs with the new AX1800S units each close to the far ends of my upper level.Aside from coverage, I wanted to have all of my Ring, Dots, Enphase equipment, smart plugs, etc. on their own network, isolated from my personal network, to help isolate their access to my everyday internet use and reduce the possibilities of a hack into my personal network from these devices (which, aside from Ring, really aren't updated very often for security). Will it actually help? I don't know, but I feel better about it!Oh, also a super-cool feature is that as an AiMesh node ALSO acts as a physical network switch (hub), so you can use those 4 Ethernet ports for anything you want hardwired to your network.Anyway, super-happy and very easy setup if you just plug stuff in and go straight to your main ASUS router!
5.0 out of 5 stars ASUS Wi-Fi router
Works well, big improvement over old one. Better range, faster, more reliable
4.0 out of 5 stars Low(er) end hardware but seems to work fine
I picked this hardware up to use the media bridge function so I could direct connect (wired) computer / printer. For the most part I would rate this hardware a bit sluggish when config the settings. One or two displays indicated that the work was done in the bridge config but was still doing it's thing 5 mins later. The software was much easier to use than the NightHawk; the speed test seemed good once fully configured. I have a more advanced version of this device as my main internet router and based on that I could get this was a bit more limited...but nothing that impacted my use.The search for wifi option was buggy by not filling in if you were remote to the device; but mostly would work fine if you were direct connect. Odd; but once I figured out what that issue was I could configure the hardware. I did get better than expected performance when connected to some real old wifi hardware...I am current on the firmware; turned off browser blocking features...at first I thought the router was locking up; but the browser back button worked fine. I used Chrome, Firefox, edge - all had that same issue. For the price the hardware works fine, and the issues could be nothing more than a buggy firmware on a feature that not many people use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nord compatible
It does work with Nord vpn. Just make sure you go to “ vpn Fusion “ and then “open VPN” option when you access router. Nord website has step by step instructions. Pretty basic and understandable. Also I was able to just connect it using Ethernet cable into existing modem/router combo which has no vpn built in
Quite Pleased…
I’m quite happy with this ASUS router as I’ve used other products from them for years and have never had any issues. I loved that it updates its software settings and that you can even control the led brightness. It is pretty good for a medium size home. I would definitely recommend this product! :)
Cdlt
OK
A bit finicky at times . . . don't know if it is the problem or not - but all's well when I reset . . .
Buen router
Es un buen router con equilibrio de fácil manejo y buena tecnología en especial el wifi6
