5.0 out of 5 stars Fits small frame comfortably
I'm 5'1" with a petite frame. Specifically a shorter than average torso. This fits very comfortably and allows me to carry my baby for extended times. My baby who is rather picky about being put in carriers instead of running wild is very content with his new seat. He is 18months old. I can also carry my 3yr old in it comfortably as well. He is a little heavy in general for me. But it doesnt put strain on any specific areas.Evenly distibutes the weight. I love how many adjustable features it has both on top and bottom and sides for my comfort and for my baby aswell. I do have to adjust straps for my comfort depending on who is in the carrier. This is easy to do while I have it on. By pulling or loosening straps at my sides. Easy to switch between children.Note for short people. For me to have it on at optimal comfort. It's raised above my head. So baby has a really nice view. But don't lean back. And watch tree branches. I love the pull out stand with the harness and sides for baby. We have definitely gone a little sideways taking it on and off. No one has fallen out. Great to set down and have a little snack in our seat. Or easily get in and out for playing.Great value for money, versatile for multiple kids.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great
I have really enjoyed the Deuter Active SL. It has enabled my husband and I to continue to be active outdoors with our nearly 30 pound one year old. As a fairly petite woman (5'3" and under 125 pounds) I was afraid the regular Deuter carriers or the Osprey carriers would be too large for me. This carrier fits me well. I am long waisted and it fits me at the next to shortest torso length. I need the hip belt almost as tight as it will go. I appreciate the more feminine fit. It doesn't remove the weight, but it does do a good job moving the weight to hips instead of shoulders. It took me a couple of wears to get the adjustments right for best comfort. My husband can also wear it, though the regular Active would probably fit him better in the torso length and shoulder width. He is 5'8". I bought the sunshade and replacement chinrest and would recommend both.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this pack
I have narrow shoulders and this was such a better fit than the pack my husband uses. Very lightweight. A bit tricky to take on and off by myself, but I think that'll just take some practice on my part.

Sturdy, easy to use, safe
4.0 out of 5 stars Poco plus vs active SL
Whew! The 2 products are a night and day difference. Unfortunately neither is perfect. I am a 5'8" female with a very petite bone structure (like my bones weigh 10 lbs less that other people my same size) I have a very short waisted \ torso at 14.5 ish inches especially for someone my height. I could not make the Poco plus small enough. The metal frame hit directly on my spine and the shoulder straps dug into my armpits. However, the baby was super secure and loved being in it. It was easy to get him in and out. There was no way my body could take it on a trail though so I returned it and ordered the active SL. The active SL on the smallest setting fits my body almost perfectly. It's comfortable. I could wear it all day. I don't feel the metal frame at all. The storage is more than I expected and I could probably figure out how to attach a fanny pack to add an additional 5 liters. It will still only work for day hikes due to storage capacity unless I get super creative with it. Also, my child cried the second I put him in it. When walking around he was occupied but he was leaning in a very unsafe way and I could feel his weight shift as I walked. The Poco plus child harness is significantly more secure. Also the active SL child harness takes 5 mins just to figure out if it is twisted when you buckle it. And if it is twisted it digs into my child's ribs. He also slid completely out of one shoulder strap and leaned on the side panel the entire time which would be horrible for his spine. I honestly don't like either pack but if I was built a little larger I would buy the Poco plus all day every day. If I can figure out how to make the active SL safer and more comfortable for the child I will keep it. I don't think it will be possible though honestly.

Easy to adjust fit for carrying. My baby is happy as a lark when strapped in. Perfect for hiking and also travel through the airport.
5.0 out of 5 stars If you’re petite, this is for you
Osprey poco plus vs women’s deuter kid comfort:We initially purchased the osprey poco plus thinking my husband (5’9 with a long torso) and I (5’3 with a short torso) could both use it. I had read many reviews from people of similar height to me that loved it. Well, it didn’t work for me. Im 5’3 and 100 lbs and it is about 2 inches too long which made it super uncomfortable AND I had it cinched as tight as it could go which still wasn’t tight enough. But it works great for my husband and it is hands down easier to use than this model of the deuter. BUT, this hiking pack is comfy for baby and comfy for a mama with a short torso and I really like it. It does not easily/quickly adjust to different torso lengths so it is strictly my hiking pack and my husband uses the Osprey. The deuter has the stirrups (which do not seem to fit quite as well as the osprey) but does not have an included sun shade (but is not an expensive add on).
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for our 10 month old
This backpack is perfect for our needs. We only plan to be doing day hikes with our son. It’s comfortable for him with the soft drool pad and padding around his sides and bottom. There are feet straps that I think he will like when he is older. It’s very comfortable for my husband. I have yet to try it myself but it works great for him. For reference he is 6’1. If you are needing a pack for longer hikes or more than a few hours, then you should get something with more storage. It has next to no amount of space for storage. For us that is fine because one of us likes to carry a separate pack for other things, but there is an enough space for a baby cup and small snacks; diaper. Etc. Not that it’s that important but the dark blue color is really nice too.
