I don't like cutting meat with serrated steak knives as tear the meat instead of slicing it. These non serrated steak knives are of good quality and are great for slicing. They are also great looking knives.

Although these knives were initially advertised photographically & textually as "Steak" knives when in fact they are Butter knives my rating here applies to the actual knife received and not the advertising error. I originally attributed the mix up to a translation problem but, since I speak Chinese I know there are "beef" related words which would certainly translate vice butter.Either way these knives are very solid cast one piece. They are a food grade of stainless which IS magnetic. I gave these 4 stars because of the price point, quality for the price. I also gave them four stars because of the visual imperfections (shown in my pictures) such as grinding and casting marks. Looking at them quickly they are not noticeable.

They arrived in a basic brown box, but the box contained the same material in sections. The knives were slid one knife per section. Knives were also sleeved with a plastic baggy. All 4 arrived in great shape. The handle is nice and full for a mans grip and it feels heavy enough that you won't easily break it. If you dropped it and it were to have the handle land just right on your foot, you'd have wished you had worn better foot protection. The knives have little fine teeth for about 3 inches at the blade end of the knives. You can make MINOR cuts with this. Blade itself is large enough to get some jelly or butter and easily spread it across whatever you choose. All-in-all, I feel for only $2 a knife, they are very nice. I'm going to get some more of these.

I'm assuming that when the product info was translated from Chinese that somehow these got labeled as "Steak Knives". This is a misnomer as others have noted so they are definitely not steak knives, but rather regular table knives or bread & butter knives if you will.That said. as table knives go these are very nice. Heavy construction with nice balance and grip. There are small serrations on the blade that could be useful in cutting rolls, etc.The knives are generally aesthetically pleasing and would look nice on any table. Great bargain considering the price although I'd like to see them come in service for 6.

A little thicker than the knives that came in cutlery set. Easier to hold. So far so good.
