    These pulleys have a lot of friction. I made a 4:1 block and tackle from the garage ceiling, routed the rope across the ceiling to the side wall, and then down the wall to hoist a 15ft, 60lb kayak. With the routing of the rope through just a few pulleys, the friction adds up fast, and it is absolutely noticeable. 4:1 should mean that I should be using only 15lbs without friction, and with friction, maybe it should be about 20-25lbs, but I was using my body weight to get the kayak up.I put the kayak down and immediately took the pulleys out. This is a waste of money. Only good for light loads with one or two pulleys. Don't bother with anything more than that.
