5.0 out of 5 stars I bought this to replace a Canon Mark 5.
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I came back from an overseas trip with my old gear and decided it is time to buy something lighter to carry around. I carried a L-class lenses I sold my old kit to an online retailer and took the proceeds to buy this R10 kit. It is light weight and takes great pictures. However, the kit Lense was not satisfactory for taking family pictures in low light. I ended up buying another Sigma lens and I am now happy with it. The sigma lense added wight and I needed to buy an adapter - if you want to be able to take low light pictures then you need faster glass which will be heaver.Controls are easy to use and II love being able to take pictures of myself using the app - a nice feature when you want to take a family picture. In hindsight, I should have waited to sell my L-class lenses until I received the camera as I might have kept my favorite lens,Note, I am not a professional photographer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny
For background I am a beginner automotive photographer. I mainly do outdoor private shoots. I previously had the Cannon EOS R100 and while it was great to learn photography I quickly started hitting its limitations. I was looking at either the R50 or this R10 for my next upgrade. I think this was the best decision I made as far as purchasing a camera for automotive photography. Here is my pros and cons list:Pros:-Excellent ergonomics-Car subject detect for autofocus-Best autofocus I have ever used (I no longer use manual focus because it’s that good)-The build quality is much higher than that of the R100 or R50-The flip out screen is amazing-Being the first of the “prosumer”Cameras I get much more control-The image quality with the same glass blows the R-100 out of the water-Lower ISO with the same exact conditions compared to the R-100-There are now 3rd party RF lenses available from Sigma and Tamron-USB rechargingCons:-The battery life is shorter than what I would like but spares are cheap-No weather sealingOverall this camera is a great pic. I have no limitations in my automotive photography with this camera. It is also great for wildlife and portraits. If you are serious about photography I would skip both the R100 and R50 and go straight to this. This camera sits right in the sweep spot of price per performance.TLDR it’s an amazing camera most people unless you are a hardcore professional shooter will never be help back by this camera.
5.0 out of 5 stars smaller sized mirrorless camera.
First the bad thing: It does go through batteries... one per day easy. Make sure to get several and a charger. I got a charger that uses an USB port so I can charge on the fly with a USB power brick. Now the rest.... really good camera. Easy to use, great feedback when adjusting the non auto modes.. I took it on a one month trip after two weeks of buying it. Played with it for maybe 10 hours before we went.It has lots of features that I forgot how to use... perhaps a small laminated cheat sheet would make things easier... like a map of the very menus and instructions on the most likely uses: multiple shots, video, panorama, timer, etc... But if you want to take good pictures, the camera works very well. I ended up doing half my shooting in full auto mode and the other half in aperture and manual modes. The built in display works really well and I appreciate that old "mirror" sound when I take a shot.I put a 1TB card in it, took like 1000 shots in "high quality JPEG" and barely made a dent into the memory. I realize I should have stored them in RAW but this was for a vacation so I needed to make it fast and easy and the quality of the shots is very good. The bluetooth interface to my phone was painless, I should figure out how to run it with the PC. Right now I just pull the memory out of the camera and pop it into a reader to download to the PC.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome camera
It’s a really good camera for someone learning photography. These pictures I took using the lense that comes with it 🙂
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for photos, not good for video
Photos are great, auto focus too. Video is great if you are doing vlogging sitting in front of the camera, but if you go somewhere with the camera (walking) or especially running that's where the camera is going to be awful. I returned it just because I bought it exactly for walking videos, some active video shooting. I had a stabilization in the lens and even combined with digital one in camera body, it sucks. Very shaky, impossible to watch... And 30fps video is going to be so ugly if you are shaking camera, objects are going to look like they are changing the shape. It fixes if you use 60fps though. So, overall the camera is great if you are not going to use it for shooting videos in action (exactly when you move with the camera).P.S. I was checking the same on Canon R5C, was thinking to get it to fix the issue, but if you watch reviews on YouTube even about R5C video stabilization, it is prettyuch the same. You would need some very good grip and have to be very smooth in your movements, with is sucks considering the price. For instance my Samsung s23 Ultra has way better stabilization. GoPro has way better stabilization. Even my ex Samsung s21 had better one. What is the issues for Canon to get it to the same level, especially considering the size of the device... From 0 to 10 I would say it is 3 out of 10 for Canon. 8 for Samsung s23, 9 for GoPro. Really huge difference. Canon, pleeeeease fix it in future cameras. Would really love to see something like R10 and R5C but with the stabilization livel of Samsung or GoPro.
Muy buena cámara
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Menú muy intuitivo y fácil de usar. Esta cámara no es para videos prolongados ya que se calienta. Fotos de excelente calidad
Impressive
This R10 has been one of my favorites. It's fast and simple. Use the fastest card. Still thinking Rebel T7... as this R10 was the first mirror-less I bought to replace the T7s. It's handling some bigger zooms quite well but with no IBS the lens should have the "S". unless everything is supported/stabilized. The price is a deal.Paired with SigmaEFs or CanonLs, no complaints. I'm Having Fun!
