I have had to use some since I am not allowed to make holes in where I lived and these strips have been very effective. They are very easy to use and hold on tight. I would recommend cleaning the wall before applying, though. The strips have been harder to apply without cleaning it first. Some rubbing alcohol would do the trick!

Our little princess kitty won't scratch unless the post is at a 45 degree angle. This worked great to secure the post to the wall so it would not tip over on her or damage the wall. I did use a long piece of velcro instead of half the strip, folded it over, punched a hole in it and used the screw that came with the post. Now that I look at it, the other half of the strip might have been long enough.
