5.0 out of 5 stars Great Quality Simplistic Bike !
Really good quality bike for the money. Well built and exactly the simplicity I was looking for. Arrived super well packaged in perfect shape. The assembly was simple, seat, handle bars, pedals, and front wheel. Having a good set of box wrenches since multiple sizes are required and the right sized allen wrench helped speed things along. No plans to ride it on wet road conditions so opted to leave the front fender off, and removed the already installed rea fender r - giving it a tougher, even more minimalist look. Went with the 1 speed and coaster brake model, rides very nicely. Easy pedaling on roads with some modest hills. Purchased a water bottle holder and under seat bag and those installed smoothly. Was plesantly surprised to see it did have a kickstand, though the picture looks like it doesn't. Super pleased with the bike, good quality for the price, and highly recommend if you're looking for a simple cruiser bike for getting some exercise around the neighborhood.
5.0 out of 5 stars Neighborhood 3 speed cruiser
Huron 3 speed, very pleased for the price (lightning deal $240). I'm 6', 230lbs and it fits me well, but if your taller I wouldn't recommend. No damage on delivery, was packaged well. Assembly was simple but does require some tools.3/8 Ratchet15mm front axle14mm seat adjustment13mm seat post clamp on bike10mm for front fender bolts10mm open end front fender nutH6 hex for handlebars14 mm open end wrench for pedalsPhillips screwdriver for reflectorsAdjustable wrench for headsetThere was some interference between the tire and front fender but that was easily fixed by bending the attachment arms of the fender. The gear shifts of the nexus hub are very precise and quick. It is recommended to coast between gear shifts to reduce strain on the hub, however it works while pedaling too.The chain needs to be degreased of cosmoline from shipping and then greased with chain lube/wax. Tires get inflated to 43 psi. My front tube was leaking so I contacted Schwinn and they sent a new one (lifetime defect warranty). For registration the serial number is on the bottom of the frame where the pedal cranks attach. There is a production date sticker on the downtube, a picture of that is required for a warranty claim as well. The bike rides great for a cruiser. The 3 speed is a must in my opinion if you ride consistently. Most of the time riding in the neighborhood is in 1 and 2 but if you really want to be an HOA rocketeer click it down to 3 and blast off. The tires do really well on pavement and grass. They are 26x2.125 should you want to replace them or need a new tube. The kickstand is stiff at first but loosens up after a few uses. The seat is firm but liveable, better than other cruisers I've tried. The coaster brake works well. The handle bar grips are comfortable and a good size. Nothing feels flimsy like it will break over time. I believe I read another review where the pedal crank bearings failed, you should never put your full weight or stand on the pedals as this will destroy the bearings.
1.0 out of 5 stars Giant Piece of S....
The media could not be loaded. It's not a bad looking bike when you get it together but it would be nice if everything actually worked. The derailleur was way out of adjustment for something that was supposed to be adjusted from the factory but that's not the big issue. The big issue was me trying to find out why while rotating the pedals this would bind up randomly and why the sprocket cassette was so wobbly. So after wasting a whole day of trying to fix this thing and it's cheap garbage Chinese bearings I had to start a return but guess what You got to have a box to do return. Here's the problem The wheel hub assembly and cones are not installed properly and are over torqued causing a binding about every 3/4 of a rotation. And unless you got the right tool to disassemble the cassette pull the bearings apart which are loose bearings packed in shipping grease not even packed in bearing grease, your SOL.Bolo I'll give you 30% off that'll barely cover a replacement hub of decent quality let alone the labor to do it.So you're only choice is to get a replacement waste a whole day trying to fix the one that you got and then when the replacement gets here hope that that one doesn't have the same problem.About another Schwinn bike for my daughter and it is absolute trash too avoid this brand it is not what it used to be.
Beautiful retro cruiser
Bike came disassembled in box and is not bad to put together with time and patience. Packaging was adequate and the bike arrived mainly unscathed but the rear rim was badly warped. After a very painless phone call to Schwinn customer service, a new rim is on its way. Definitely needs tuning once assembled but a beautiful matt black finish and gorgeous lines! Love this bicycle!!
Great single speed
Very good Huron men's single-speed bicycle there is nothing cheap about it and mine came with a basic kickstand the kind I like. It also came with a front clear reflector plus both wheel reflectors and two rear reflectors. I also bought the rear Schwinn rear rack that fits well. This is a very fine bicycle and I will look after it.
OK for the price
not five star : shipping box was damaged in several places. many scatches on frame and fenders(one on top frame bar was through paint to bare steel) will see how well it rides when the snow leaves.
Too heavy, no output
I ordered this bike for everyday use, but this model may work only for short ride near a coast line. Slow, non agile at all, while pedaling bike does not give back, even if you are cycling for the hill. Also this bike would fit someone big. I m 5 5 inches and it was too heavy for me. But my partner, who is bigger than me, tried to ride it and also did not feel comfortable. So if you want to use this bike as a commuter, never take this model. It is not comfortable for this purpose, that can cause dangerous situation on the road.
Slick looking bike
Got this bike today and it we really like the look! It was fairly easy to put together. It’s been a few years since I’ve had to do it so it took a bit longer but less than 15/20 mins. The bike is pretty light and a lot smaller than I thought which I is great, I was worried about getting a big cruiser. The only downside is that the wheels did not come completely filled, so you’ll need an air pump once you get it. Other than that I can wait to see how it performs.
