5.0 out of 5 stars Nakamichi Excel Series 24k Gold Plated Banana Plugs: A Simple, Effective Upgrade
If you're looking for a straightforward way to improve your audio setup, these banana plugs are a great choice. They're well-made, easy to install, and deliver on their promise of improved conductivity. The gold plating ensures a secure connection, and the build quality feels solid. While they may not be the most glamorous component in your system, they're a reliable and affordable upgrade that can make a noticeable difference in sound quality.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing quality for the price
Considering the reputation of Nakamichi and the fact these were less than $8 I was dubious about getting authentic parts. After using them the quality seems top-notch in every way with none of the aberrations typical of cheap imitations (poor quality uneven branding/silk screening, burrs, poor machining causing gritty, uneven screw connections and driver slots that aren't deep enough, uneven depth/width, misfitting parts, inconsistent sizing, etc). These look great, work great, fit great; it's a simple part and I think the price is reasonable but some brands are over 2x the cost and I can't see them being 2x the quality and some generic parts are the same cost and I can't see them matching this quality, I only found one about $1 cheaper from some no-name Chinese manufacturer and if these aren't genuine Japanese parts they're outsourced to a higher quality standard that is up to Nakamichi's audiophile quality reputation.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works and looks great!
Looking for a nice looking banana plug that has a a solid construction fit/finish with a non-conductive sleeve? I appreciate the double screw taps and "soft" gold finish w/extra screw included! Pricier than most at 2x the cost, but I'm glad I got them.
5.0 out of 5 stars Secure connection; simple to use; nice build quality
I usually use Monoprice banana plugs but gave these a shot since they were available in the quantity I needed. Could not be more pleased with them. The connection is simple to make but still is very secure, with the leads held by two nicely sized grub screws. The overall build quality is very solid, and I like that a spare grub screw is included in the package.Moving forward, these will be my go-to when it comes to banana plugs. Five stars.
4.0 out of 5 stars Solid plugs for the price
Bought these to match the other set I purchased. They mount well and have a good solid connection on terminals. I don't see this connection loosening over time.May require modification to fit larger guage cables. As over tightening can and will break the screws. As it did with mine. I was able to grind down the mounting screws enough to be able to tighten down my wires and fit the sleeve over top. This WILL need to be done for thicker gauge cables to be able to mount correctly. Otherwise you will just have to forfeit the cover.Just a reminder, If you plan to grind down the screws. Wear PPE Personal Protective Equipment. Such as Goggles and a Mask. These would be excellent if only they provided two sets of mounting screws. One short for larger gauge cables and one long set for small guage wire.I still recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, well made original product.
In original retail packaging. Well made with tight tolerances. Easy to install.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works
Works great, easy to install and looks nice. Sound wise I can’t hear a difference but love how easy banana clips are. I am using about an 8 gauge braided wire and it was a little tight to install. Feels sturdy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use. Great connection.
I bought these because my Yamaha R-N800A, like other Yamaha amps I've used, has one glaring flaw: really crappy speaker wire terminals. They are flimsy-feeling, not very well textured plastic, and they are way too close together. As a result, it's tough to get bare wire really set firmly into them; to the point that after a few weeks the right channel was cutting out because the terminal had come lose and was allowing play in the wire connection.I ended up choosing these banana plugs because of the cool look and a fondness for the Nakamichi name from my youth. They were very easy to set-up and firmly clamp down on the wire with dual set-screws. The plugs seat very firmly into to speaker terminals. (In fact, at first I thought maybe I had somehow bought some strange, unknown size that wouldn't fit. Nope. Tjhey're just that snug.) And, IMO, they did end up looking cool installed. As for performance, these kind of things are... for me... oh so hard to tell. But I do think I noticed a widened sound stage with these in place. Perhaps not. And perhaps that wouldn't be the case with amps that have better speaker terminals than Yamaha's. But I do believe it to be true.I would buy these again without thinking twice.
Bien hechecitos
Perfect
High quality product and easy to install. Nice weight to them too and the color coordinate helps quickly determine positive from negative. Knurled ends make them easy to grip.Recommend!
