    When the box arrived the inner box was opened and slightly crushed, when I opened the kettle for the 1st time there was water in it and was dirty around the lid. Went ahead and decided to try it to see if it would heat up, once plugged in the light turned on for 30 seconds then off, when I unplugged it the piece that goes into the cigarette lighter was extremely hot almost to the point of melting the plastic. Will return and not buy again

    I bought this kettle for my several weeks road trip. It works fine, it takes about 45 min- 1 hr to heat up the to max. It doesn't boil the water all the way. Also if you heat up the water you can't leave in the kettle because it cools down, just like any other kettle. Keep the kettle upside up otherwise it will leak even if it closed all the way. Another point to be noted that if you are using battery pack to use this, it takes a lot of power.

    It heats up warm enough to make my coffee just fine. I can't see this ever heating up enough to boil. And it takes a long time. I think the description says about 45 minutes. I feel like it takes more than an hour for me to heat up 20 ounces of water. If you fill it all the way, expect longer. But since we live in a campervan and depend on solar for power, we are used to less powerful devices. We have an inverter so could get an actual 120v kettle, but we'd rather save power and use this thing. If only it had a timer so I could set it to start heating about an hour before I wake up. That would be perfect!

    The only thing that gets hot is the plug. Like white hot. When my water failed to heat on my boat, I touched the plug and was instantly burned. I tried in the car, nothing happened except I accidentally touched the plug and was burned again.Would make a great gift to someone you do not like.
