5.0 out of 5 stars Honest Review, I'm Picky By The Way!
Update: Still loving this headset, only had it for a little bit, but I'm still blown away. Off my head I can hear them from my living room, but if I put them in my leg I can barely hear a thing. Amazing! Great sound too!I get AMAZING sound using a 3.5mm to USB and connecting that to a USB to USB C. Using the 3.5mm jack doesn't sound as good. It might be the material? These adapters in the photo are fairly cheap and work very well, they feel very well made. Plus they'll provide better flexibility for these amazing headsets
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic value, looks and quality.
Very easy to setup, just be careful when plugging jacks in to select appropriate input type, and to se than input in Sonar app. Make sure jack goes fully in headphones and in extension cable and sound card. Love this, will buy another set. Works great for music and games, microphone is solid.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality mic and sound
Volume control work great and doesn't adjust the sound level on pc. Mute button is super convenient 👌. Overall for the price it works great for What I need and the light weight design and fabric muffs don't make you sweat . IRacing!
4.0 out of 5 stars Set up actually awful, but otherwise, great quality for the price. Excellent microphone.
No instructions come with this headset, and they are not exactly a "plug and play" type of thing for PC. You're going to need to download their "Steelseries GG" program to get any sort of equalizer control, which you're going to want. This requires you to create an account with them to use it. You might need to twist your headphone to audio cable connection to make sure it "sets in place", as per a youtube comment that had a multitude of replies on it thanking him. Make sure your audio wheel is turned up when trying to test if the computer recognizes it. The audio splitter may need to be plugged into the opposite color than the corresponding color on the connector. The SteelseriesGG program will not actually recognize the headphones as their name because they do not support USB connectivity. There are so many crazy things to the set up of this stupid pair of headphones that Bolo told me I cursed too much on my last review and they couldn't post it.That being said, they are fine. Comfort is great, sizing is nice, and the sound quality isn't that bad, actually. Microphone works very well. If I were to change anything about them, it would be literally all of the above. Seems like a fine product with the worst set-up I've ever had with headphones. Steelseries, you're lucky you've made an alright product. I hated wasting so much time getting it working.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works as supposed to
My son is satisfied with this headset. He’s tried many others and this one so far is the best one
1.0 out of 5 stars STEEL SERIES WARRANTY PROCESS IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL
As you read this review please note the headset was in excellent condition at the time it broke with no user related damage. Also, my experience during this entire communication process with Steel Series is that they will respond to your email once per day and not on the weekends.I bought this product in June 2021 and it broke early Oct 2021, one ear of the headset and mic no longer work.I purchased an extended warranty and called to make a claim, I was told it was still covered under the manufacturer one year warranty and I would need to go thru them.Contacted product support on the Bolo site and advised I wanted to pursue a warranty claim. Spent 30 minutes in an online chat with someone trying to fix the device to no avail. Was told I would need to go directly thru the Steel Series website.Spent half an hour online with Steel Series going thru the same process of attempts to fix the device, still doesn't work.I was advised I would need to submit pictures of each earpiece, mic, headset, serial# and original receipt to make a warranty claim.I sent screenshots of everything but the Steel Series rep indicated they were unable to view the screenshots so I had to resend it in a PDF document.Once that was done I was given a link to submit a warranty claim. You're required to break the headset apart in very specific ways or per Steel Series directions you risk voiding the warranty claim. (or you can send the headset back to Steel Series at your own expense and maybe/maybe not you'll get reimbursed that cost)I think I'm pretty strong but it's not easy to break them the way they ask, I had someone else try too. I advised Steel Series I was having trouble breaking them. I finally managed to break it but it snapped in a different area than the very specific way they advise you to or risk voiding the warranty. Then I had to send pictures of each broken piece. This time you can't use a PDF because it's too big for the space you need to upload it to, one space for each picture. Back to the screenshots which apparently now work for this part of the process. Then I got a an email saying I needed to send them a video of the product. Steel Series advised that they don't have enough data space for me to download a video and can't view a google link so I need to create a You Tube account or Vimeo account in order to send them the video.I responded asking where in the directions it indicated I need to send a video and what was wrong with the pictures I sent. I also indicated that I thought their process seemed designed to discourage warranty claims.I received a response saying -"The video is needed because our system is requesting it for further verification. If you are unable to provide it to us please let me us know so I can close this ticket accordingly."So, I guess I should just take a video without knowing what was wrong with the pictures and cross my fingers that Steel series now finds my submission acceptable???I asked for a Supervisor to call me. No response. I sent another request for a Supervisor to contact me. I received a response to that email that my request had been escalated. Then I received the following. Thanks for reaching out to us. I read up on issue in the thread. I am one of the leads in the department. Video verification of destruction is something that our process requires. This part is important, and we really want to get you verified and get you your code for the new headset so that you will be able to get back to gaming, that we all love to do :). Please be sure to complete the video verification step, as not completing this will lead to denial of the warranty claim.Still no feedback on what was wrong with the pictures to ensure I accurately capture the information they want in the video. Still no call from a Supervisor. No ability to submit a video unless you're interested in creating a YouTube account for yourself and I assume uploading your video to YouTube for anyone to see??? I don't know if that's right because I don't have a YouTube account or have any interest in creating one. I sent a response again asking to speak with a Supervisor. I received a response from the same party that Steel Series only communicates through email. (As I noted at the top - they only communicate once a day, this has been going on for almost two weeks).I called and spoke with customer service at the extended warranty provider that I purchased from and explained what was going on. The party I spoke with agreed with my opinion that Steel Series appears to make it much more challenging than would be reasonably required to make a warranty claim and they were kind enough to honor the warranty at 100%. They gave me a prepaid label to send back the headset. When I told them I had destroyed the headset at the direction of Steel Series it got a little problematic but we were able to work it out and I have since been refunded the full cost of the headset by the extended warranty provider. The entire phone call with the extended warranty company took a half hour. They indicated they would be giving Bolo feedback on Steel Series warranty claim process, I hope they do.Still waiting to hear back from a Supervisor at Steel Series...........
5.0 out of 5 stars It a quality product
The SteelSeries Arctis 3 is a popular gaming headset known for its solid performance and affordability. It features a comfortable design with adjustable ear cups and a lightweight build, which is ideal for long gaming sessions. The headset's sound quality is generally well-regarded, offering clear audio and a balanced sound profile, though it might not have the depth of higher-end models. The noise-cancelling microphone is noted for its clarity, though it lacks some advanced features found in more expensive headsets. The Arctis 3 also includes a durable, flexible headband and comes with a straightforward control scheme. While it may not have premium features like wireless connectivity or advanced surround sound, it provides good value for its price.
Ignore the reviews and see for urself
This headset was reviewed on yt, tiktok, and Bolo as completely mid. Nothing bad overall but not the best either. But to me its 5 stars and the best within its price range and features.Audio Quality - no need for a splitter/hub just a 3 ring jack that plugs straight in to my pc, i play valo and i hear perfectly fine, volume wheel on the set is a massive plusMic Quality - wasnt expecting much but my friends actually pointed out how clear and crisp my voice is on discord. They commented on its clarity in diff occasions. Just dl steelseries gg (which i alrdy have) and all u have to do is turn on noise suppression.Comfort/Build - the headband was the real reason i got this, so comfy, the pull out mic goes back easily ive had no issues with it, the mute button is a godsend, the muffs are super soft, and its adjustableGot this for $50 so if u consider all the features for that price it literally is a steal for ppl who dont want to drop $300 for quality headphones.Pros:-great mic-good audio-volume wheel/mute button-soft headband/muffs-retractable/adjustable mic-single cord (also comes with splitter if needed)Cons:-the white colour is not as white, more light grey imo
Good value for the cost.
Great value for what they cost.Audio is great. They are not leather/pleather or whatever, so they don't cancel noise as well, but that's okay (for me).)I apparently have a large head, I can wear these for 8 hours or so without getting headaches or issues.Microphone is good, no audio quality issues. The mic pushes up into the headphones when not in use, I fully expect this to fail at some point because it's mechanical (see extended warranty comment below)They don't look bad - I wear them in business meetings and they are sleek and good looking. They're not giant boxes hanging off your head that make you look stupid.I would highly recommend buying the additional warranty for 4 year warranty for the 12$ or whatever it is. Where the cord connects to the ear cuff will wear out over time and you'll start getting issues with sound cutting out in one cuff or another. This has been a pretty consistent experience of mine over the last 4 years, having replaced 3 pairs of these type of headphones.Again, for 75$ or whatever, they are the best.
LONG TERM REVIEW: ARCTIS 3 MOST DURABLE, COST EFFECTIVE, AND COMFIEST HEADSET I HAVE EVER BOUGHT
TL;DR I bought this as a gift to a friend because I originally bought this headset for $120 almost 8 years ago and it still works perfectly to this day despite moving 6 times, taking it on flights, trains, and buses. This headset also changed some minor things which make it better now. I cannot wear traditional headset as they hurt my head, so this one was definitely the one for me with the fabric band design.I bought this as a gift to a friend when she said she needed a headset for talking on discord and gaming at the same time. She uses discord on her phone and doesn't have a headset so when we game, I can always hear myself and the game music in the background. I originally bought this headset almost 8 years ago when I was in high school for $120 and it was on sale at that time?! Now its $80 on sale so it was a STEAL. I needed to rent a new place every year, so I have moved very often in my university years. I shoved this headset in my backpack at the top and shoved it underneath bus seats, airplane seats, and train seats. This headset has never broken or even cracked, which I am very impressed about. The unfortunate thing about it at the time when I got it was that it never came with a travel bag, but I guess you don't even need it since its so durable. I have also dropped this headset a couple times off my desk as my chair snagged the cable on it, no problems. Even visually, the headset looks flawless, the plastic they used on the outside doesn't scratch much unless you run a knife on it. I also have an issue with traditional headsets, such as the sony noise cancelling or bose noise cancelling ones. After I wear them for about 3 hours, the top cushioned band hurts the top of my head so much where I have to take them off. I also had this problem with other gaming headsets. I saw this design with the fabric band and I've never had this problem. I can wear this headset for 12 hours (tested) and have no problems for those long gaming sessions. It feels super light and I also love the airweave cushions they have on the earcups. Other designs make my ears sweat and its just really uncomfortable. The notable changes I saw when I opened the new one up versus the one I have owned for 8 years is:- changed the top fabric band from grey to black- sides of the cups are not rubbery texture- volume wheel on side is black and has bigger textured bumps- clearcast mic looks a bit better visually- changed their proprietary cable to aux now (my favourite new feature). The cable consists of 2 parts, cable from headset to a male 3.5mm aux, then the second part of the cable is a female 3.5mm aux to a splitter, red and green just like the old cable. The difference is the 3.5mm aux that connects both parts. This used to be a proprietary port, so my headset (8 years old OG) came with an extra proprietary port to a 3.5 mm male dongle. All in all, what a great buy. My other friend also snagged one up once I told him this story since his hyperx one had horrible mic quality and his corsair one, the earcup literally fell off and was dangling by a wire.
Great headphones, wonderful sound quality
They are great headphones, they are comfortable to wear and have fabulous sound quality
