I was looking to integrate the scale with my Apple Health so I automatically track weight instead of entering data in a separate app. The Wyze app does a good job and it easily integrates with Apple Health to send over the info. So far it works well and seems very accurate and consistent. So far I am pleased with the product and I feel it’s at a reasonable price point. It’s very slim and non-obtrusive with a clean design.

My plain, simple digital bathroom scale was over 20 years old. It did not have replaceable battery but the one it came with LASTED OVER 20 YEARS of moderate use by one person. When it finally gave out, against the warning on the back, I drool it apart and tried replacing the button battery with a new one (the same battery) but it didn’t bring the scale back to life.So I started searching for a new bathroom scale, which is way more difficult than I thought it would be! The brick-and-mortar stores around me had limited models and after checking their product reviews found all had a number of reviews saying they had quit working after a few months to a year.I even looked at a number of “best bathroom scales 2023” lists from general internet searches. Looking at the most frequently listed models on Bolo, thorough price/value evaluatiion (from reviews) led me to choose the Wyze Scale X, black version.It arrived in perfect condition and after reading the instructions, was easy to set up.I honestly did <not> want internet connectivity from a bathroom scale, but you don’t have to set up or use those functions for it to work correctly.It is sensitive to small changes (testing by weighing with/without clothes on) and though I have no other home bathroom scale to objectively compare values with, it does give me weight values that seem realistic and look correct AFAIK.It also will return a body fat composition score if you weigh in bare feet (as suggested) and stay on the scale after the initial weight is displayed, nbut I don’t care what the score is so I just get off once I get my weight. (I’m not a bodybuilder or health enthusiast to the point where a precise measurement of body fat means anything; who can’t already tell if they consider themself over-fat or not? I can. Lol)Size; large and heavy enough to feel secure when I get in and off.Easy of reading; great, an improvement over my old scale.The only downside I can found is that the glass-like surface shows dust and water spots easily. Maybe it is real glass, I’m not sure, but because the edges are exposed I try to be very careful to not hit it against anything hard when I move or clean it.I have started putting it in a bathroom cabinet , horizontally, when not in use. I think it can be stored vertically, which would save some space, but I suspect that might mess with the balance of the weight measuring components over time, idk.It was low/mid priced vs the competition, but I am too thrifty to consider it a disposable item that I’m willing to replace regularly, so I am trying to take good care of it if the care required is not too time/effort intensive.The battery is easily replaceable.And I am still thinking about how to get the 20 yr old scale operational again, in case this new one does crap out sooner than I’d like. There is one small board in it, connected to a few sensors under the outer deck. I scoured the internet looking for info on how to repair it, but the model is long discontinued and the entire product line has been sold to another mfg who doesn’t list it in their support area. I have engineers at my work that may be willing and able to diagnose and fix something, so that’s my next step when I get around to it.The obvious trend towards cheaper (in $ and in quality) components and finished products serves no one well IMHO and I do like to support good manufacturing when I find it.I hope the Wyze Scale X stands up to the test of time.(BTW, I am a buyer for a small US mechanical device manufacturer, and I understand that the cost of components and the finished goods are very important, but I am proud to say my company values reflect quality over cost and I’m glad they are so far successful despite the “race to the bottom” direction most competitors seem to choose. Go USA manufacturing!)

I wanted a scale to track my weight, but also my wife and kids. This works well. I do have to select them as their weights are similar.The blue tooth works fast, always connects. It is quick to capture weight and keep history over time. Not sure how accurate fat % is or all the other measurements are (there are many) but could be as I don’t have anything to compare it against. Weight is accurate against traditional scale I have.The batteries last as long as expected. Looks nice and stays clean. I have synced it with Google Fit and Fitbit. You can set goals. Easy to edit historical measurements if needed. Nice graphs over time. You can export data through email. There is also a luggage mode, weigh yourself and you holding your luggage to calculate what it is to keep under 30 or 50 lbs., etc.This is the best scale I’ve gotten so far, highly recommended.

They measure way more than just your weight! Very sleek and very functional! You can weigh your luggage, your baby, and keep track of your vital stats, like body fat and water. As an added bonus, I love that it syncs with my Fitbit! On top of all of that, the price is decent too!

WYZE Smart Scale X - review
I recently purchased the WYZE Smart Scale X and have been putting it through its paces over the past few days. Overall, I have found it to be a great addition to my fitness journey, offering a mix of impressive features and a few minor drawbacks.Pros:One of the standout features of the WYZE Smart Scale X is its affordable price point. It's refreshing to find a smart scale that doesn't break the bank but still delivers on functionality.The scale comes packed with a variety of useful features, from weight tracking and body composition analysis to a handy weather forecast display. It covers the basics and then some.The build quality of the scale is impressive, feeling sturdy and well-constructed. The sleek design blends seamlessly into my bathroom decor.Setting up the scale with the WYZE app was a breeze. The app itself is user-friendly, providing clear and concise information about my measurements and progress.Cons:One noticeable downside is that the scale requires the app to be open on your smartphone during measurements. However, this is not a drawback for me personally, as I already own other Wyze products and am accustomed to this setup. If you're already familiar with Wyze's ecosystem, this might not be an issue at all. Just be aware that you'll need to keep the app open for seamless data transfer.
Accurate scales
The scales are extremey accurate and consistent. Excellent pairing with mobile phone. The scale is suitable for my size 12s. Nicely designed and a good screen. Easy to read screen and easy to use with phone. Of course, like all smart scales you can take most of the measurements using algorithms with a pinch of salt but I'm hoping some them can provide some insights into body changes. A mode for luggage weighing looks useful and will probably like the pet mode!
Unauthorized seller, Wyze will not honor warranty
After the first use, the bluetooth quit (fault 1) and has not come back. I followed the troubleshooting instructions more than once. When I press the reset button, the screen should read CLR, but there is no response (fault 2). Without bluetooth, the scale does not transmit data to any health app. Furthermore, there are no readings for BMI, body fat, etc. (fault 3). So, I paid a lot of money for a scale that is not "smart" at all. And the nice people at Wyze can't do anything for me (fault 4) because the seller is not authorized (fault 5). Buyer beware, the scale is not worth the price unless it happens to work perfectly. If it does not you are out of luck.
