Bought this for my 4 year old for her birthday. It's not too heavy and does fit her head well. Biggest issue is that the headband isn't center, it's tilted to one side. She won't care, and it will work, but if that is an issue for you, buy in advance in case you need to return. Normally would return this, but she wants to wear it already, so we'll keep it.
