5.0 out of 5 stars What an amazing product.
Just want to say this head unit is amazing. Put it in my 2015 F150 XLT use the maestro RR four with the data link. I’ve got to say 10 out of 10. I love it all the little extra features you get with it plus you keep your steering wheel and the existing volume knob that’s there, also, you still have access to your Ford settings too you don’t lose it.
5.0 out of 5 stars CarPlay must be connected to the GPS cable
The volume during navigation can be pressed at the same time as the voice. Correspondingly, the adjustment of the volume of the music must also be adjusted while the music is playing.Overall, the satisfaction rate is 100%. I use the 2010 Benz smart car in Asian countries. At the same time, I can also listen to radio stations in my country, and the reception quality is good.
3.0 out of 5 stars Sounded amazing but ......
It was a great radio, sounded great and was very happy with it, but it kept resetting itself and I would have to keep reprogramming it. The last day it did it 4 times in a one hour. Also it was hard for me to glance at the screen to see time or song ( this wasn't the radios fault it was my old eyes.) LOL.
1.0 out of 5 stars It's crap. Very dissapointed with Kenwood. Buy a different one.
WOW. This thing was AWFUL. I was really excited to get this deck, and it's such garbage I can't believeKenwood would even put their name on it.Where to start. It takes forever to "boot up". EVERYTHING is unintuitive. The user interface sucks. Slow, the menus are not well designed, and it will just change screens whenever it wants. I listen to a thumb drive on the USB a lot, and half the time I have to unplug it and plug it back in just for it to know it's there. The Android Auto is trash. Loved the idea of it, but I used it for about a week before I disabled it completely, because it was so inconvenient. Also, it's way too bright at night even on dim, with no settings to adjust it.It is devoid of MANY features that even a cheap deck from WallyWorld would have (not a promotion, I hate WMart, but the deck I purchased there is still better)- If you had it on full volume when you shut it off, it starts up at FULL VOLUME. Most decks are smart enough to have a selectable startup level.- It dies IMMEDIATELY when you rotate the key from on to accessory. Most decks will stay on instead.- Sound come on immediately and dies immediately. Most high end decks "swell" the sound up as it come on, and down as it shuts off, so it is easier on the ears.- The power button is not illuminated when the deck is off, so it's very hard to find it at night- Produces less signal volume than the cheap DUAL deck I had before- Will not read files that my cheap DUAL deck will read, freezes for 10 seconds when it encounters a file it doesn't like- Random isn't random. I had over 400 songs on a thumb drive and it would play about 40 of them on random. To hear the others, I'd have to go to the folder and select the song.I would be somewhat ok with this deck if it were a $150 off brand Chinese deck, BUT THIS THING IS $526 bucks BY KENWOOD. I switched back to my $80 deck and I'm much happier.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great feature and Wireless CarPlay for the price
Great feature and Wireless Apple CarPlay for the price. Excellent sound quality with a lot of adjustment options. Integrates well even with an old 2006 toyota. Works with car's steering wheel audio control (need universal adaptor interface). Back camera integration works really well.Great feature and quality for the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great in my LX470
Took some fancy wiring but having connected it into my Nakamichi (‘99) it sounds awesome and functions perfectly.
3.0 out of 5 stars The maps didn't work
It was weird but for some reason the GPS was not working properly, it would be giving me directions and then it would switch to thinking I was in a different location one hour away. Ended up returning and bought a different brand.
1.0 out of 5 stars All newer Kenwoods not compatible with touch pens or prosthetic hands.
I am unable to use the touchscreen with my touch pen nor my prosthetic hands. I can use the left side bar menu, but that's it.I took it to the stereo store in town, as I thought it was defective, and they couldn't get it to work either. While I was waiting for them to fix it, I tested out the other Kenwood car stereo on the displays, and every single one wouldn't work the the capacitive pen nor my prosthetic hands either.I'm not sure what Kenwood does, but everyone else does fine on the touch screen with pen and prosthetics.Recently, I went to the other two car stereo stores in town and I had the exact same issues with Kenwood there as well. so it definitely is a Kenwood.I hope that Kenwood fixes this, as I cannot use there stereos and I prefer them, as I have been using them the last 10-15 years. Now I have to switch to Pioneer, and I'm not too happy with pioneer sound and terrible interface. But at least the touch screen works fine for both capacitive pens and my prosthetic hands.
Not to bad
The only issues I have is that after a few months the microphone stopped working and the glare you get on it is pretty bad. There are times you can't see anything on it when the sun's shining.
Reboot often not sure yet
I installed 2 weeks ago with a Maestro, it reboot often (2~15 minute) on the road or stopped at accessories.I'm not sure yet if the problem is the radio or the Maestro.I'm sure the cable are correct, it can do it on flat road, engine stopped at accessories, or ignition.I will review once I find the issue.
