5.0 out of 5 stars Working fast in my son's room
For some reason my son's bedroom gets way more humid/hot than the rest of the house. That means at bedtime, we have to crank the a/c for him and the rest of the house is freezing. With this little machine, we've managed to lower his room's humidity quickly from 60%+ to 40% really quickly, which means he's able to fall sleep faster and we can turn the a/c back to a regular temp. (I've posted pictures showing the improvement over just about 20 minutes verified by my little humidity checkers)It's a small unit so the water reservoir fills up relatively quickly. We typically empty it out every night., but it has a drain hose if you're set up near a window.
5.0 out of 5 stars Small quiet dehumidifer
We inherited a large basement humidifier when we moved into our home. This unit is substantially smaller in comparison to that one. I have been using both in our basement to conduct a comparison between the two units. When the humidity and temperatures start to rise I plan to move this unit up into the main living space to keep things more comfortable. I have been monitoring both humidity/temperature in out basement and electricity usage while testing this unit. Our basement is approximately 700 square feet and quite humid even in winter. The description for this unit states 4,500 square feet but I suspect that is a typo for cubic feet.I found power consumption for this unit to be moderate and I have included a picture of the energy label along with this review. Sound levels were also moderate and mostly confined to a hum and the sound of air from the fan. After running this unit in our basement continuously for less than a day I found the tank to be mostly full. During that time, it kept humidity levels in our basement under control but was slower than the larger unit (no surprises). This was impressive as the temperature was low (high 50s), making the unit have to work harder. The included hose was a simple plastic affair so if you're planning on using the drain hose permanently you may want to consider upgrading to something more durable eventually. One nice thing I found is losing power doesn't cause this unit to lose it's state when the power is restored, something that occurs with the other unit that we have. Requiring it to be started back up if we have a power outage. I look forward to using this during the warmer months to help the air conditioning with keeping us nice and comfortable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Enough to Tackle Florida Summer Humidity!!!
With our faltering AC, we have constantly been having problems with humidity, especially in the Florida summer with rain pretty much every day (23.9in of rain just this past month). A few spots in the house were often unbearable and we got a little thermometer with humidity to keep an eye on it. I often work from home and my home office is one of them, usually sitting at 55%. Fired this up in my office and didn't take long before this had the humidity down to 38%, a BIG difference. Also, have a closet beside a bathroom that usually sits around 60%. Didn't take long for this to drop it to 33%. Super easy to use, runs quiet. The water collection tank is quick and easy to empty with no mess. This humidity absorbing canisters and other products like that may have their place, but this thing runs circles around them. I can see anyone who uses those products, the return on investment would be pretty quick. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to shed some humidity.
1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap plastic; small reservoir.
While I enjoy how quiet this dehumidifier is, the reservoir is small and has to be emptied every 24 hours. The hose to run water out the back is not very long if you want to run it to a drain. Even more frustrating, rolled unit from one room to another; one of the wheels came off and can’t be reinserted into the bottom of the dehumidifier because the plastic is so cheaply made that bottom part that holds the wheel in place cracked and broke. Not the dehumidifier will not remain upright with only three wheels. Have only had product for a month. Very unsatisfied with the quality.
4.0 out of 5 stars Very good dehumidifier but very small tank
This is a very good dehumidifier. Most dehumidifiers at this performance level uses 400 watts. This one uses 350. My basement started out at 78% RH and in one week the RH is down to 48% according to the indicator on the humidifier. Instead of using the built in tank I have been draining it into a five gallon bucket because the built in tank is so small. Of course, this method has no way of telling the dehumidifier to shut off when full so it needs to be watched. If you have a drain or sump pump that it can drain into that would be the best practice in my opinion. In my basement, which is 900 sq. ft., it will fill the five gallon bucket in two days which works out to 20 pints/day. The specs say it removes 50 pints/day 95°F,90% RH.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great and easy to use
When I first unboxed my dehumidifier, I was pleasantly surprised by its compact design. Many models come with a sleek and modern aesthetic, which allows them to blend seamlessly with your home decor. The setup was straightforward, with a simple instruction manual guiding me through the process. Within minutes, I had it plugged in and ready to go.
2.0 out of 5 stars Bought two, one works, one doesn't
Bought two machines. One works and one doesn't. Unfortunately, noticed it too late so cannot get a refund. The one that does work seems to work okay.
5.0 out of 5 stars Does exactly what it claims.
Bought this to clear up a musty smell in my basement and I didn't realize how much it would fix the smell of the whole house! It's quiet, efficient, light, powerful, and easy to empty! 4500 sqft as advertised!Would highly recommend to anyone in the market!
