About this item:
Offering fast, accurate phase hybrid autofocus, the LUMIX S5II mirrorless camera is designed to deliver excellent performance in both photo and video. The 24.2-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor complies with PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus), with Active I.S.to support walking shots, and an imaging engine that's been developed to achieve high resolution, natural description, and approximately 2x higher-speed signal procession for high bit-rate video recording. With the high dynamic range and broad colors of a 14+ stop V-Log/V-Gamut capture, and an advanced heat dispersion mechanism for unlimited video recording, the S5II is developed to meet the demands of ambitious creators with an assertive shooting style.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first camera and I love everything about it
This camera came heavily recommended by so many people and I have to say im very happy with it. While I have no way to compare to other cameras in this price range I haven't found myself wanting more that this camera doesnt offer. It has great video features and takes beautiful photos.. Im not even good and getting good quality pictures.Camera stabilization features are very good and everything from the construction and feel of the camera is quality. Theres are lot to love but I do have a few problems that i havent quite figured out how to address. -I have made a lot of configurations but I just cant get them to get saved. I have to constantly load my settings every time I turn on the camera and its really nuisance. Luckily the menu always stays on load when its prompt.-The camera gives features to lock all functions but only when recording.. would be nice if you could do it while photographing. Not sure how to do it if it isnt the case. I read the whole guide and didnt find anything on how to address this issue.
5.0 out of 5 stars Features that really makes a difference.
I was a Fujifilm user for years so at the beginning I was a little skeptical about changing to Panasonic. However, I can tell you that I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This Lumix has everything I need as a professional photographer to really take my content to a new level, the learning curve was smooth and fast and all the menus and controls are very intuitive. The quality of the camera is undeniable, you can feel while handling and I’m really impressed with the image stabilization even handheld. The built in fan allows me to record videos as long as I want and in general terms this camera is really fantastic! Worth the price totally.
5.0 out of 5 stars One last request Panasonic!
Hands down the best camera I’ve ever held! I have used Sony garbage for the past five years and believe me when I say this, this camera really made me feel like I was using garbage! I mean don’t get me wrong, Panasonic was all garbage too up until this Lumix s5ii for a simple reason… reliable autofocus!Where to start, idk, everything just blew me away! Color-science, best IBIS in the game, 6k open-gate, V-log is amazing, Real-Time Lut, ease of use etc… the only drawback is the lack of autofocus in the 1080p high frame rates. Other than that, you are good to go, matter of fact, I found that the autofocus is much more reliable than Sony in 4k up to 60p, Huh! you heard me right! Finally, Panasonic please, “hear us out and release a firmware update supporting PDAF for all other 1080p frame rates, I know you can do it….”Only then, the search for the perfect camera is over…
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice, east-to-use, video camera
I have a few video cameras, mostly intended for serious use and requiring the videographer to make most adjustments manually. What I wanted was something with more automation that would work well for situations in which I didn't want to spend a lot of time setting the camara's parameters for the particular shooting situation. I also wanted something that worked reasonably well hand held without a gimbal. Ths fits the bill. I haven't put it through all of its paces but both the autofocus and image stabilization seem to be a cut above what's available in similar cameras at a comparable price point. Also the size and form factor make it an easy and incospicuous camera to operate. The image quality is also quite good, with natural-looking colors and proper saturaton. As I said, I haven't used it yet in highly demanding situations. But from what I've seen so far, I feel that I can safely recommend this camera for shooting very good quality videos without the need for a lot of ancillary equipment to assist with focusing or image stabilization. If I couldn't lug a tripod or set up a camera cage with a wireless focus pull motor and were shooting a non-stationary subject, this would easily be my choice from among the several cameras I own. That's not to say that it wouldn't work well on a tripod or gimbel (sits relatively mall size is a great advantage here) or fitted out with a cage and attachments. But those things really aren't as necessary for this cameras as they are for some other high-quality video cameras. My five-star rating is qualified by the fact that I haven't had the camera very long or used it across a wide range of situations. So I can't say that it works magnificently in every scenario or that it will last nearly forever. But I don't know that those things aren't true, either. And based on what it has been used for so far, it does just what I want.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera
This is my second one I purchased for interviews. Best bang for your buck camera on the market today without question.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great video and photo camera!
The media could not be loaded. Right out of the box the first thing you'll notice is how comfortable this camera body feels in hand. If you've ever held another certain brand you'll know how boxy they feel. And this Lumix S5ii is the opposite, it feels great. The botton layout, while even using this body after being a Nikon user my entire life felt like it just made sense. I could get out on a photo shoot right after purchasing the camera and feel good about knowing where everything is.As for the specs, the video and photo quality is exceptional as you'll see. And the auto fucus capabilities in both video and photo are very quick and make life easy!
5.0 out of 5 stars Best camera for photos and videos
I am so happy that I bought this camera. Best from the best. I really love 4k video and the photo quality of this cam. They are so clear and vibrant colors. This cam has a lot of features to use and easy for me to transfer all my vids and pics to my phone. I am really satisfied with it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible camera for traveling
Took this camera with me right after buying it for a one week trip to Ireland as my main camera. Incredible auto focus and video capabilities, was shooting 4k 60 handheld and the footage was stunning. Pictures were also very solid. Great hybrid travel camera!
Awesome Hybrid Camera
An great, all in one, hybrid full frame camera. Excellent build quality and really comfortable to hold. I don't have anything negative to say about the camera. It does everything well - great pictures and fantastic video. Lots of flexibitliy with video, although I mainly shoot photos. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love this camera
Just get it, if you're like me you're on the fence between this or the Sony (insert all variations and prices) for the price vs what you get in this camera it really is amazing. I've had this for over 2 months and I honestly love this camera. the kit lens is great and sharp as hell, very usable focal range.
The most features for video for the price - One of the best cameras you can buy right now
Hands down the best camera for the price currently on the market. Only downside is cropped 4k 60fps but that's expected at this price point. The dual native iso produces NO noise in the shadows and the image can be pushed super far in post with restoring highlights and boosting up shadows. Blown away at the versatility of the image and the dynamic range. If you have a GH5 or GH6 this is the worthwhile upgrade to full frame. Zero issues with this camera and I'll be using it for many years to come as my A-cam on all commercial productions.
