5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for making coffee while camping
I bought my Outin on a whim as another option for making regular coffee while I’m out camping or at an event away from home and don’t always want to go find a coffee shop in the morning. I have an Aeropress, which does make good coffee, but I’m also lazy and liked the idea of not having to time anything. Just push a button and go.I haven’t even used it for espresso. I just grind regular coffee beans and then add extra water when it’s done brewing. I do have a travel kettle that I use to heat water so I get the most out of my Outin, but in a pinch, it also does a great job heating and brewing (but they aren’t kidding when they say it eats up the battery. You really only get a few uses before you need to charge again, whereas if you add already hot water and directly extract, you get a TON of uses before you need to worry about charging). It’s incredibly easy to use, makes good tasting coffee, easy to clean, and so nicely convenient when you’re out and don’t want to have to hunt down the nearest Starbucks to wake up in the morning. I’m pleasantly surprised with how well it works and how durable it feels.I ended up buying the bigger basket for it, which makes it easier to dump the coffee grounds in. The little basket that originally comes with the Outin is small, so make sure you have a spoon or something on hand to scoop your coffee or you’ll end up with a mess.If you’re looking for something convenient in a small package for coffee while camping or traveling in general, consider getting the Outin. Yes, it’s more pricey, but so far it’s been working well for me for numerous extractions without any issues and it allows me to be lazy and get a good cup of coffee with barely any work. To me, that’s worth it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
Very portable, will be handy for long commutes or late days at work for a 'pick-me-up'. Hunting for a coffee shop takes time, even though I know several locations on my route, and the prices of a mere cup of coffee have skyrocketed. This will also be handy in overnight stays at hotels where the coffee makers are broken (or don't appear to have been cleaned well). I tried using the Outin Nano with my own coffee grinds, and the taste is great with my usual added 1/2 and 1/2 & a bit of honey, or a shot of lavender syrup. I don't have capsules, but will try that next. For the price of this machine, the carrying case should come free (it's an added cost to buy it, and there are other brands of carrying cases that would work fine, but without the Outin logo imprinted on the case). There is another brand of portable expresso maker with few reviews that does come with a carrying case. I will likely test that brand out and compare the two portable expresso machines in a later review. Otherwise, I like the portability concept.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for work locker!
I recently discovered my love for espresso and bought a nespresso for home. I hate the coffee machine we have at work and wanted something portable that will fit in my work locker. This has been amazing, I love the versatility of being able to use coffee grounds or the nespresso pods, I have only used the pods with it and for that it has been great. The battery does take a while to charge and it doesn't last an enormous amount of time, but a larger battery would call for a larger/clunkier machine so I think it is a fair trade off. I use hot water from our coffee machine which cuts back on the battery drainage by a lot! This item has reduced my stress in the morning by allowing me to prepare my espresso at work versus making it at home and bringing extra dishes to work. I have everything I need there so I am able to just get up and go.
4.0 out of 5 stars Was good until a few uses - UPDATED
Everything worked well at first. Also keep in mind it takes a while to heat up But that’s ok because it’s battery operated. After two weeks of use (1 pod a bay generally sometimes two ) , it doesn’t seem to make a good connection. To the nespresso pods so to speak, it’s difficult to close the bottom threads now too. Will be returning , shame as it’s a good conceptEDIT:This company did make it right and sent me a replacement , they responded quickly so i have to give them credit where due. Hopefully this one doesn't have issues and this is a good product
5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest invention since coffee!
Okay so it’s not quite the same as my multi thousand dollar home rig, BUT!!!!! This little gizmo is GENIUS LEVEL. I brewed both regular espresso grind AND Nespresso pods and it is AMAAAZING! I used to travel with an Essenza Mini Nespresso in my suitcase because of dreaded hotel coffee. Not any more. This thing is nearly silent, takes up the space of 4 pairs of socks and honestly makes better coffee! ON BATTERIES Nonetheless! The espresso grind pull was completely believable with decent crema and everything. If you travel, hike, etc., you NEED THIS! Heck, you can pull off to the side of the road and pull a shot in your CAR! No more 5 hour old gas station drip! I wish they included a charging adaptor. It’s not standard usb so order one. Otherwise I love this! Get it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Machine
I have been using OUTIN for about 1.5 months now. It’s very easy to use and the coffee tastes amazing. I’ve used it with hot water and cold water. With hot water the battery lasts for a really long time. With cold water you can get about 4 cups at max water level, and the coffee comes out at the perfect temperature. I highly recommend this product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for travel!
We took this unit with us on a 1700 mile motorcycle trip. Fit perfectly in our saddlebags within a smaller little pouch. Took nesspresso pods with us in same bag. Worked beautifully several times per day per person. Holds charge well when you heat up water in microwave first and then extracts instantly. If you put cold or room temp water, it takes longer to brew and uses up more charge. We didn’t mind, we just charged it over night every day to ensure we had full charge. We are very impressed with the flavor and crema that it produces. Does not over heat the coffee which can cause bitterness. Very consistent. Each cup tastes like a barista prepared it. We will be ordering the protective case that is available for it. Highly recommend this unit for any kind of travel.

What a world we live in..
Imagine showing this device to some Astoria barista 50 years ago. It's an espresso machine that fits in your pocket, and so far it's been producing beautiful results.Back during covid I gave up buying coffee on the road; I just can't justify spending $3.50 for crappy, watered down brew. I bought a car kettle thermos and had kept a jug of water and half a dozen Via instant coffees in the car. It worked well enough, but instant coffee - even Via - is so deeply unsatisfying.I can't wait to travel with this thing!
Loei hete koffie heerlijk op temperatuur
Koffie is onderweg loei heet, heerlijk
Fantastic on the go coffee
Was recommended this by a friend and definitely worth the penny's....from loading the unit up and filling with water to getting an espresso poured takes only few minutes. My unit takes around 3min 30seconds to heat cold water to pouring the good stuff.5/5*
