About six months ago I was gifted a Norelco 5000 series shaver. I don't think the rotary type shavers do very well with battery operation. The cutting head blade speed seems slower than the old corded type Norelco rotary shavers. I decided to try a Panasonic linear type shaver that moves the blades way faster and requires less energy from the battery. Holy smokes! Way better shave with no pulling discomfort. The trimmer is built in. It's easy to clean. Came with a zip up carrying pouch. Charges quickly. Really does a good job in half the time.

I switched to electric razors years ago and have tried the upper end of well-known brands. Never too satisfied.After some research, I decided to go with this ARC5. It is a game changer for me. I have a medium beard, shave most days. It adjusts to the beard; I can hear the motor change depending on the section of my face. I've been using the ARC5 for 3 months. It provides a shave as close as what I used to get with a blade without the irritation. I also now use a beard lube from Jack Black...that makes a big difference. I did a comparison with my previous razor, a Br*^n S9, and even with the lube, it was not as good of a shave as the ARC5.It's very easy to clean, easy to maintain. It's a bit quieter than my other razor.The ARC5 isn't perfect as I do have to be careful in a couple areas of my face to make sure the beard is cut. The battery life is shorter but it's still about 5-7 days between charging which is fine for my use. Minor issues for the excellent results I'm achieving.An interesting note: my wife tried it on her legs and it produced results very close (pun intended) to using a blade. Now I just have wait for them to go on sale again to get her own.I know beards are different but I am very satisfied and highly recommend trying this ARC5 along with some beard lube.

Being a wet shave with a blade it has taken a while for my face to adjust to an electric razor. After three weeks I would say my shaves are better and I have zero skin irritation. I do love how easy it is to clean with no hassle. The shave is not perfect as a blade yet do appreciate my face not looking red and irritated. I would recommend this electric razor.

Have used only Panasonic electric razors for past 30+ years, so can't compare with other brands, but broader Panasonic reviews tell that story. Bought this Arc5 when second 3-blade LT41 finally died, and short-term large Bolo discount from list made this a great deal. Did I mention this is only my third Panasonic razor since maybe the 1980s?...so Panasonic's reliability plays to both my loyalty & parsimony. Routinely use in shower or with Afta Pre-shave lotion...former gives a slightly closer shave, but latter is perfectly adequate everyday. This is a beefy razor weighted toward the head, but well designed for either a full-paw grip, or a 3-4 finger grip with the thumb on the thumb pad. I've found the wide 5-blade head works best if I move slower than with the old 3-blade, and let the head move flat across the skin. This takes a bit more concentration than when I just ran the 3-blade quickly and repeatedly over all areas. With the wider head, difficult areas like the throat, chin, and lower & upper lip required a bit of initial experimentation to keep the multiple blades cutting flat against the skin--stretching the neck, holding the head rotated 90-degrees, or inverted. After a few weeks I'm now getting a significantly better shave with only a bit more time and attention.

I bought my first Panasonic shaver in the early 1990's from Newegg for $19.95. I used it for 10 years - always with shaving cream. I then moved up to the ARC 3 and bought 3 more when they went on sale. Then I moved up to the ARC 4 which I thought was the best ever (at the time) and I bought another ARC 4 when the first one's blades wore out. I still have 2 brand new ARC 3's so I have been comparing one of them with my new red ARC 5. Believe me, this new ARC 5 blows the others away for speed, closeness, looks and comfort! I only do wet (shaving cream) shaves still. I have been using the ARC 5 for about 3 months and could not be more satisfied with it! Buy It!

For the price I bought two. One for the house and one for the truck. Dry, the razor cuts my beard close. Not as close as a razor. But if you wet shave, it cuts close like a razor. Primarily use it for midday shave and at the end of the day shave. It’s a little heavier than the 4. The head is a little bulkier. The blades are no longer than the 4. Being new, the charge lasts about 11 days. It’s a good quality razor and the price was right.

Compré esta rasuradora por la experiencia previa de tener una Arc 3. Desde que uso Panasonic he tenido una buena experiencia y estaba explorando nueva tecnología que tuviera y encontré esta Arc 5 a un excelente precio y decidí comprarla. Estoy muy contento porque como siempre el producto no me decepciona y es una excelente rasuradora, su tecnología más reciente logra un rasurado más al raz. Se agradece el detalle que tenga un estuche de viaje para guardar y proteger la máquina y en general la recomiendo mucho.
