Great board overall, the finish on the board feels great, the pieces just glide across. The magnets help with the stability of the pieces so that they're not falling over at the slightest bump. It's not too strong either where you would be lifting up the whole board when you lift up a piece, the strength of the magnet is just perfect. I love the overall design, how the shapes have a slot for storage instead of just piling all the pieces in. Overall 10/10 chess set, I love the extra queens.

This is just what we needed for outside play. The board is magnetic and the peices are large enough. We easily put the peices away after play, stored in the board. I wouldnt leave it outside. This board could work on a long car trip, as the peices stay put.

What a very nice chess set for the price. Everything seems to be high quality and functional. I am really impressed with the magnetic feature, it's somewhat intriguing. The chess pieces hold well on the board, and if you try to use another magnetic object, like a refrigerator magnet (checking the magnetism of the board itself), some are very weak or won't work at all. However, every magnetic chess piece holds excellent ! Even holding the board upside down! The hinges and hasps are very good and the 2 little latches are like a small bullet catch to kinda snap lock in place so they don't fall open. The storage compartment also is very good in holding and keeping the pieces in place do when it is opened, they won't fall out, providing you put the pieces in their proper spot properly. The felt on the bottom of the pieces are excellent for the protection of the board and lifting off the board easily making a move. The chess pieces are very well made and finished with no sharp edges or roughness. The weight of the set was surprisingly of very good weight, so if you play in a vehicle, it will stay in place with no problem. This is a fantastic chess set for any skill level, to include the excellent portability! I highly highly recommend this chess set !

This board looks nice, the magnets are good, the hardware like the clasps all feel like good quality.There's just one downside for me. The face of the board is either vinyl or a soft veneer that looks like wood, which aesthetically is fine and feels really smooth and nice, but because it's soft, it scratches very easily. It also came with a scratch on it, that looked like they tried to cover the scratch with a wood stain type marker, but that just made the scratch more obvious.My husband and I use this as the board we take with us places, so scratches aren't the end of the world. However, if I had gotten this as our "nice/at home" set, I probably wouldn't be as okay with the scratches.I made a case for it to protect it from more scratches, especially for when it's face down so we can pull the pieces out without resting it on anything that might scratch it (picnic tables and things like that).Other than how easily it's scratched, it feels like a well made board and I am overall content with it as a travel board. It's a good size with good pieces. Seems well made, came packaged well, and has created hours of fun for me and my husband.

My son has been into chess for awhile, but has been asking to play more and more. We just had a basic 5 below board and he's talked about wanting something more durable for when we play (I may have knocked our board over a couples times by moving wrong on the couch). So, I did some looking up for on-the-go boards and this magnetic board popped up! SO pleased with it for the price! I didn't want to spend a crazy amount, but this had everything I wanted for us; storage, built with better quality, and the pieces will stay on the board better! Even better, the storage is the board, so we can take it with us anywhere; portable!

This is a great travel chess set. I purchased it for our child to use as he really likes chess. Very affordable with a high quality feel to the board and pieces. The magnets are strong enough to allow him to play in the car while we drive.
great little board
looks great and the pieces are quite nice to play with. the magnets are handy and not so strong that pieces are drawn together while you're playing. being able to store the pieces in their own snug form fit container in the board is great instead of having them roll around loose in there

I like the look and the wood is smooth. The storage is nice as well. The lines aren't perfect when you look close but it's a nice set and good price.

This product is well made. It has foam that firmly holds pieces in place and the magnets are moderate and can therefore be moved easily without being shaken or knocked off the board accidentally.
