I'll heat food (usually homemade soup) until piping hot (in a separate bowl of course, don't ever microwave this or other steel!) and then put it into this container. From 5am to 2pm, the temperature is still hotter than warm, which is great when I don't have access to a microwave. I also use this for cold food as well, like cold melons, tuna salad, or chicken salad. I'd say it does the best job keeping food cold, since you can refrigerate the entire container overnight. The wide opening makes it easy to use, it's dishwasher safe (I always put mine on the top rack), and it's so sturdy it could survive an apocalypse. The lid's seal is also so good that it will basically ferment whatever is inside! I accidentally left watermelon in it for 2 days, and when I had to pry the lid off, it popped and the watermelon inside had become super fizzy. Crazy! Definitely don't forget food inside it if you're leaving it out all day at room temp! Since this thing is good forever, I'd say it's an amazing value and very functional for the daily grind.To visualize how much it can hold based on what I fill it with:• about 2 cups of soup• a whole can of tuna• a cereal bowl's worth of hot oats• probably half a cup or more of chopped melons, as long as it's chopped bite-size and not in chunks like the grocery store has it• around 1 cup of grapes

Keeps food hot longer than anything I've ever tried. Holds a 18.8 oz. can of Campbell's Chunky soup easily. I tried the "boiling water in the container before the actual food" trick so it would maximize the length of time it would keep food hot but after filling it up at 6:30 am and eating at 2:00 pm, it was too hot to eat. I stopped the boiling water. Just don't tighten it too hard. Hard to open after it stays warm all day. Just snug it up. It won't leak.

I have an older food jar from Stanley and they had a smaller lid, the new model has a much wider lid that is very hard if not impossible for smaller hands to open without tools. But as for keeping food warm, if you can get it open, it works just as good as you'd expect a Stanley to work

It keeps items hot and cold. We all know this. My concern was leaking containers. Many boast saying they don't leak and I've learned my lesson. Not this. It does not leak. It also fits perfectly in my Stanley 7qt cooler. It's the perfect size, doesn't take up a whole lot of space but it will hold plenty of chow. You cannot go wrong with this.

He usado mis termos varios meses y puedo opinar que son una maravilla, hay que guardar la comida muy caliente para que mantenga el calor pero si lo haces el calor durará horas yo empaco mi lonche por la mañana y como a las 3 pm sigue muy caliente, pareciera que es pequeño pero le cabe más de un bowl de sopa.

This wonderful thermos food container! showed up in great condition not a scuff... feels amazing in the hand the labeling is elegant and the product works exactly how they say- if not better! I spent much time researching thermoses what is a good quality thermos company and so forth and this company seems to stand true! Based on my research Stanley and Thermos are are excellent companies - if you are looking for a quality wide mouth food container for a day adventure for hot chocolate or ice cream - hot oats- pasta - chili whatever you desire - this is the one for you! I am very pleased that I can use a long Korean style spoon to reach the bottom of the container and eat easily without a fuss - I will add that I have small hands and I find it quite easy to hold this container because of the little dips on the sides - feel more confident while eating or drinking - if you want a longer hot or cold time definitely get a larger food container from Stanley BUT if you're looking for a wide mouth - easy to clean container that you can eat directly out of - keeps your food hot or cold and is comfortable to hold and let me not forget to mention - made with non-toxic materials! - this is the one for you! thank you so much Stanley!(Just as a side note I think that a non-slip bottom would be a great addition to this product)

No uso microondas y siempre era muy complicado tener comida caliente para la hora del almuerzo, con la linea Stanley llevo mi comida desde la ma;ana caliente y dura horas, asi puedo llevar comida hecha en casa y mantenerla caliente. super recomendado

Llevo usándolo unos días y mantiene la temperatura de mis alimentos, hasta ahora no he tenido ningún inconveniente, no se derrama ningún líquido y es obvio que por la presión que genera el vapor caliente va a costar un poco de trabajo abrir pero nada del otro mundo, lo volvería a pedir ! Si dudabas en comprarlo esta es tu señal para pedirlo!!!
