I replaced an LG 50" TV that got damaged. I am an LG fan, the picture is good, it was easy to set up and I like the fact that Alexa and voice control are built in.

Sound quaility wasn't important for me because of the Denon receiver that this tv connects to does the sound. I like the remote which has nice pointer feature that is very responsive and accurate like a laser pointer. The tv has many ways of fine tuning the picture. I had to search youtube to access the signal level for broadcast channels but it is there if you look for it. This LG UR9000 tv is not edge lit which I like allot. The black level is very good and also the screen can get very bright if you want the screen bright. With an internet connection the tv offers many hundreds of free channels. This tv also has ethernet connection for internet if you want to use ethernet. This tv also has games that are played using the remote as a game controller. I tried tetris game using remote as controller and it works well.

The remote Bluetooth setup does take some attempts, but once setup it works very well. There needs to be a video on this remote as it has so many features to use. The paper manual that comes in box is not helpful for two reasons. One it’s written in such SMALL text that you need a magnifying glass to read. 2. Too many steps for different features and too complicated to grasp the workings of remote.

I was so excited to get a new LG since I replaced my last one (that lost its smart tv technology) with aRoku tv . But they got so fancy with the remote it's not fun. I have to login every time I turn it off and the wandering pointer I have yet to be able to control well.But the biggest disappointment is the lag time, loading time or whatever you want to call it, every time I stream from LG's provided streaming channels the ads come on and stop to load sometimes 3 times a minute! So irritating and often the screen will just go blank!I've called LG customer service and they are quite helpful but I can't take the time to call them everyday! This is making me wish I still had my Roku. I really wish I had gotten a different tv.I am adding to my initial review 6 weeks later. The TV is the most absurd tv experience I've ever had. I cannot watch what I want LIVE. I cannot watch live tv of MY choice with this thing. Everything I choose to watch I have to watch prerecorded or on my computer. I have spent HOURS with technical support, trying to figure it out. This is called OPTIMIZING MONETIZATION. All roads lead to an attempt to have you purchase. I had a chance to return the tv but it was working for a minute, but it changes daily. I thingk finally I will STOP watching tv.

Just great. If I wanna watch the Angels lose 162 games next season, or see the Rams go 2-15, I gotta go upstairs. Meanwhile, precious electrons lose their lives belching out cooking shows and chick flicks. "Mama Mia" should be shown only on the smallest possible screen. In silence. With the electricity out.This TV, however, when it's not violating common rules of human decency by showing said shows, is great.
