5.0 out of 5 stars So far so good- super precise
After using this a handful of times, it cuts amazing. The magnet is strong and the holes are exact. Just drilled some 16mm holes in a welding table to accept table clamps, which should have need done ages ago! Drilled several projects using the drill in tight spaces , mounted sideways. Cut through 3/8-1/2” steel no problem. The plugs don’t always drop. I mean if you are cutting horizontal gravity is not with you. It’s light enough to handle but heavy and heavy duty to drill the big holes. Cutting steel is not that tough with any drill, but besure to use cuttin oil always.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good tool!!
This is a good tool plus bits at a good price. Strong magnet, sharp bits. Drilled many 7/8 holes, no problems
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for hobby work and beyond.
Bought this as I need to drill a lot of holes in 1/2" steel, this thing works great, both with the cutters and when using the supplied chuck. I did notice that L is forward and R is reverse, I had assumed they were Left and Right but thats how mine is wired. At this price its worth buying. Magnet is strong enough to pick up 50lb of steel with ease and the speed control is worth having. When using the jacobs style chuck, sometime when you drill through your material it will fall off but thats more of a binding issue than a tool issue. So far so good, would buy again.
5.0 out of 5 stars Vevor 1300 watt mag drill.
I like the drill alot, I also have there 1450 watt version and they work great and hold up. They are very durable and the magnet is strong. the only downside is the lubricant container is plastic and sometimes leaks at the fitting.. I built one out of aluminum for the 1450 watt one.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value in a Mag Drill Vevor Quality as usual
Be apprised this is a long review:First off Read the enclosed operating manual..I read reviewers that complain about the electro magnet base getting hot. All AC electro magnets get hot when left energized for a prolonged amount of time and it plainly states that in the owners manual if you bother to read it, kind of obvious to me the complainers failed to read it...lolThe Veyvor Mag Drill is a quality built unit, just like all their tools are (and I also own their chainsaw grinder) which is on par with the Oregon grinder and in some ways superior to it but at a price point WELL below the cost of an Oregon chain grinder, I was very impressed with it, clean die castings, accurate and superior chain vise and depth stop adjustment (versus the Oregon) as well and that was a prime impetus for buying the Vevor Mag Drill. I sharpen saw chain loops for my arborist customers constantly I might add and I have both the Oregon grinder as well as the Veyvor. Enough said on that. The Vevor Mag Drill has some faults however. The most glaring fault is the exposed drill motor cord which can get in the way when setting the drill up on a vertical surface especially. Additionally, the base is stationary and not rotatable when the magnet is energized so you must align in carefully when drilling a hole with it.The drill is very well assembled and I observe no runout in the spindle what so ever. It's heavy (like all Mag Drills are but the magnetic holding power is great but I would still secure it when drilling in a vertical position, you don't want a 20+ pound machine dropping on your foot.I purchased the upgraded model simply because a large number of holes I drill require second operation tapping so the reverseable and variable speeds are a requirement. I can drill a hole with either a twist drill chucked in the supplied Jacobs style drill chuck, remove the drill and replace it with a tap and start the tap straight and true and then loosed the chuck and remove the machine and finish the tapping with a manual tap driver. The model I purchased also comes with an assortment of HSS Annular cutters but I strongly suggest purchasing a set of carbide tipped annular cutters as well. Carbide tipped cutters will far outlast HSS cutters at least 5 times or more if you plan on boring multiple holes.I would also invest in a tube of Hougen Slick Stick semi solid annular cutter lubricant for vertical operations as the supplied coolant-lubricant bottle cannot be used in the vertical operation and the annular cutters require sufficient lubrication when boring to insure a clean, burr free hole. Finally, for standard boring, machine at 90 degrees to the workpiece, I suggest using the supplied 'coolant' bottle and delivery hose and introduce coolant / lubricant into the hollow spindle and hollow annular cutters and I use a synthetic EP coolant in the coolant bottle, same stuff I use for flood coolant in my machine tools but straight, not dilluted. Finally everything I've listed is available here on Bolo.
3.0 out of 5 stars Loud
Overall not bad, loud as heck, weldon adapter to drill chuck was wrong size, they sending right one. Annular cutters work great so far. Oil fitting on unit leaks ALOT. Great for the price
5.0 out of 5 stars Can't beat it for the price!
Can't beat it for the price. So far I've drilled over 200 holes with it through 1/2" thick I beams. Magnet is still really strong and the drill bits are sharp and pretty good quality.
De bonne facture
The media could not be loaded.
The magnet holds on the work surface great.
I liked the way it handled the truck frame like cutting butter.
