    I think the toughness of the mat makes it worth the money over typical landscape fabric. I needed a very sharp knife just to cut small slit to run wire through. The different layers should keep just about anything from passing through. I have used multiple layers of other fabrics before, and they still allowed many types of foliage to grow, almost as if I had put none down. I wish I had bought more to provide a barrier under stone around perimeter of my platform.
