4.0 out of 5 stars Tasty but super salty!
I have tried Coy's Southern Eats Famous House Seasoning on a number of things now (avocados, eggs, etc.), and it's proved pretty tasty. I have yet to use it on chicken headed into the oven for a roast, where I suspect it will shine—as long as I combine it with pepper (and maybe even a tad of sugar to offset the saltiness). This seasoning is VERY salt-forward, which is not a surprise when you consider the listed ingredients are "Salt, Seasoning Salt, Spices." Honestly, the "spices" do not seem to have a lot of depth—all I taste besides salt is garlic powder. Also, if you are sensitive to certain spices, you might want to use caution simply because the container does not specify which spices the mix contains. Upshot? It's good but not all that special and it tastes mostly like salt and garlic powder.
5.0 out of 5 stars flavorful, versatile, and affordable
This seasoning adds a nice, savory flavor to meats and poultry. It also works well on vegetables, such as potatoes, carrots, and corn. I have even used it on popcorn and it was delicious. Super versatile and a great addition to any kitchen and it is sure to become a staple in your cooking rotation.
1.0 out of 5 stars SALT!!!!! And more SALT!!!!
1/4 teaspoon of this seasoning has 23% of your sodium for the day...that's a lot of salt. The seller does not list the ingredients anywhere, so I thought I'd give it a try and I ordered it.The ingredients are SALT, Seasoned SALT and spices. I'm allergic to onion powder...is that one of the spices? I guess it's top secret. But I cannot take a chance and I don't want to ingest all of this salt anyways.I find it totally irresponsible for a company to not list the ingredients. There are no instructions on the label either or suggestions on what to put it on.
3.0 out of 5 stars Super salty
This does have a good flavor but it is extremely salty. To me it tastes like salt and garlic. I like salt but this is so salty I'm not sure if I'll be able to use this. Maybe on something super bland like chicken and only use it sparingly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very tasty seasoning salt
So far, I have use this on french fries, and it is very good. I wasn’t quite sure how much to use, so I went light on it the first time. But it still made it very tasty fries. I think I will add a tad more next time, but the flavor is really nice. I also appreciate that there is no MSG.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great flavor
Very good flavor. Coys House Seasoning is a great multi purpose seasoning for all sorts of meats. Fairly priced and I’ll be purchasing this in the future.
