    This audiometer is easy to use for quick hearing checks. It is somewhat limited (4 frequencies and 5 levels), but still useful. One problem that I had with it was that the battery compartment cover was almost impossible to open, even using both thumbs and a lot of force. I used a jeweler's file to slightly reshape the plastic latch on the end of the cover and it works fine now. I am assuming that is is correctly calibrated, since that should be pretty simple to get right.

    An audiogram is supposed to test as low as 10db but this only goes down to 40db.

    After I was unable to remove the cover to put batteries in the thing, I had no confidence in this piece of junk. It beats even Dish Network remotes in the category of difficult battery placement.
