5.0 out of 5 stars Land Line Phone Purchase
I purchased the Panasonic Cordless Phone Model No. KX-TGD810 one handset it arrived yesterday. Takes 7 hours to charge. Which is fully charged. Based on the reviews I read helped me to make this purchase. I always read the reviews on items I have purchased. I did have a land line phone a while ago it died. It had a very short life span. I just didn't replace it had my cell phone. Not having a landline phone was a big mistake mistake!! Being without a cell phone for about 3 weeks could receive incoming not able to make outgoing calls. I had locked myself out of my cell phone. I couldn't unlock it because I forgot the 6 digit code. I don't know how this happened. Going through this experience for the first time is what made me purchase a landline phone. What I like about this phone are the features, easy to see the numbers on the keyboard, block unwanted calls, nice ring tone, very clear, and the price is great. I am happy with my purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good phone, good features
This phone has good quality, several features which I'm still learning about and sound quality. Easy to see buttons. I like the call block feature. The only thing I DON'T like is the angle that the base is made as you can see in my photo. Because of the angle I had to hang the phone on the lower part of the original telephone line wall bracket then add a screw to the bottom of the phone base and into wall. I would not have been able to see the answering machine at that angle if I hung it on top hanger. I did check out and return other phones for this same reason but decided to keep this one.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic 300mAh battery life - replace them on day 1 with Amazon AAA NiMH for about $3/handset
We have had several sets of Panasonic cordless phones over many years, and have noticed that as this type of phone has fallen out of standard use, Panasonic has deleted features. I note that they do not provide belt clips or headphone jacks on this model, which - honestly - we barely ever used and don’t miss. The digital features like voice call announcement and call screening are more important and are well-represented on this phone. However, on this model, it does seem that the chargers don’t mate as well with the handsets when you drop them in, so you need to check carefully that they say “charging” when you place them. Most significantly, Panasonic really cheaped out on the stock batteries. They’re standard AAA size, NiMH technology, Chinese origin - and only 300mAh in capacity. No wonder people mention short battery life in their reviews - 300mAh is terrible! We have had at least one of our three handsets complain about low batteries every day, which never happened with our previous set. The Bolo brand of replacement AAA NiMH batteries are 800mAh, and another value brand sold on Bolo advertises over 1000mAh. The stock batteries should be immediately replaced with a $5-10 set of generics, for triple the handset life off the charger.
5.0 out of 5 stars The features on this phone were a nice surprise.
This phone was easy to install. Having it for a few days I became more adventurous in some of the advanced features, and they didn't disappoint. I like how the handset announces who is calling without having to look at the handset. How messages are retrievable as well as deleteable from the handset, and how most, but not all functions (such as deleting caller id info) will transfer from handset to handset.I realize that landline phones are becoming more and more outdated, but this dinosaur will not be giving up his landline any time soon. I'm extremely happy with my purchase of this phone.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect phone!
This is a perfect phone for anyone that still wants a landline. The phone is small and lightweight and feels good holding it although it is a little slippery with dry hands. There are so many options to set the phone to your preference. I love that it has a convenient call block option and that it shows a caution symbol to let me know if it's a scammer. I also love how it shows me the time and date which helps a lot. Quality of sound and everything is good too. Great price and great little phone! Highly reccomend!
5.0 out of 5 stars Landline phone system
We love our new Panasonic landline telephone system. The answering machine with the 2 other phones works great in our house. What I like the best is the handsets do NOT run down near as quickly as our old ones did. I don't think we have yet had them tell us they were getting low and need to be returned to the charger. If you need a new set, go for this one. You won't be sorry! They are very easy to program and set up. The numbers are large and easy to read without any glasses. Great set overall.
3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed.... Going Down HIll!
I have had Panasonic phones for years. The early ones lasted for even 10 years or so. Gradually, as landline phones are less prevalent, the quality "seems to be going downhill." I wrote support and they seemed to care in the beginning and then simply stopped communicating with me.My old Panasonic phones I had just for a year, began to not ring sometimes when the phone was by me. Sometimes people could suddenly not hear me and I had to hang up and call back. Sometimes the phone would echo so much I could not understand the other person. So finally I ordered a new set. This set the battery would not last for a one hour call! If left sitting on a table with no calls it died in two days! Then the new phone did not ring too, and people could not hear me once in a while as well. I had the same problems as I did before combined with the poor battery life with this new set. So I returned them and hooked up my old set again!I also was disappointed I could not find one available to plug in my headset anymore. The wonderful flashing light on the top letting you know you had a message is gone. Also the thing you can snap on to hang in a pocket or something so you can be hands free.... is no longer available either. It is lighter than the previous model and not nearly as loud. I have tried AT& T and could not read their screen and people could not hear me. I tried another brand too and came back to Panasonic. Their sound is better, good buttons and screen. This phone KX-TGD832M the batteries were not good on either phone, the sound was softer and they also sometimes did not ring and echoed a lot when on speaker phone.I wish they still made a GREAT Model and I would certainly buy it. They Are better than three other brands I tried. However, this new set, had the same problems the one I was replacing had so I returned it!
