The lighting is fast, reliable, durable and works dust as advertised. if you need an affordable cooking thermometer that will stand up to higher priced competitors give this one a try, between this device and my TP829B wired thermometer i have not been disappointed. the lighting's fast read is perfect for when you need to do a quick temp check on meats and not lose time or too much heat on the smoker. liked it so much I've gifted a a couple to friends.

My older Thermo Pro had to be retired after many years of service.Since it had performed so well over the years and Thermo Pro being an industry leader I decided to purchase this unit .I purchased this unit for a few reasons....my prior experience with Thermo Pro products, its instant read capability and a standard 10 year warranty.I am delighted with my purchase. It did not disappoint

Thus far, this is a quality item. It does take 1 second longer than advertised to read the temperature. With that being said you can spend an additional $70 to get that 1 second. Easy to read, and love that the magnets hold it securely to my fridge.

Got this because I needed a faster temp reading than my basic one could give me.When smoking 48 pork butts, or 50 briskets the other day, ever second counts.Everyone else has the 2x as much special thermometer, I thought I’d give the lighting a try and send back if it sucked.It’s just as fast as theirs. We’ve tested it multiple times and spot on temp readings.Save $. Buy this one.

My son encouraged me to get one of these after he came for a visit and was frustrated with my old fashioned meat thermometer. This works so well; I use it to check my final bread dough temp after mixing, everything baked, microwaved, bbq'd, even water. I don't know how I got by without it for so many years. Thanks son!
4.0 out of 5 stars Reads Accurately in Seconds and Has a Magnet to Keep It Handy
I absolutely love this thing! It reads super-quick in only seconds and everything I've read with it has been cooked perfectly. It has a magnet on it, so that I can keep it up on my metal wall section and it's handy when I need it. When you unfold the probe, it automatically turns the thermometer on. I like that. What I don't care for, and why I had to take a star off, is that you have to fold the probe back in for it to turn off. When I'm cooking, I don't want to have to stop to clean the probe just to turn the thermometer off. And I don't want to fold it up when it's still dirty. I don't want to leave it on the counter while it's on and drain the battery, either. So, this is a small inconvenience that I can live with, because I really do love my new thermometer. I really would like to give it 4-1/2 stars.

Very accurate, and fast readings!
This is the third instant read thermometer I've purchased on Bolo, including a less expensive model from ThermPro. This is a little more money, but well worth it. The thermometer is rugged and will last longer than less expensive ones. It provides very accurate readings, and the instant readings are much more 'instant' than lower price models.A very good, chef quality thermometer. It has helped me produce meals that are cooked perfectly. A little more costly than alternatives, but if you think of the cost of all the meat you will cook over the next 10 years (which is the warranty of this thermometer), the cost of this thermometer is well worth it! Would buy again, and have recommended to friends.
Great feel and rapid readings
The thermopen has a solid feel when handling, with large clearly visible numbers. The speed of response is a great feature. Very happy with this purchase
Excellant thermometer
This thermometer works as stated. To turn it on just swing the probe out from the home/seated position and to turn it off swing the probe back to the home position.The unit is substantial and easy to handle. And so professionally packaged.No more waiting for the temperature probe to stabilize to read a temperature, like this ThermoProbe is instant as you can get. And yes, the readout flips to to a readable orientation if you measure from the left side or the right side.If it can be said that a thermometer is a pleasure to use, This ThermoProbe Lightening is indeed a pleasure to use!I hope I get many years use from it. The very probe end is very fine and care has to be taken not to damage it. Just don't drop it, and insert straight in and out.
This is a great BBQ thermometer
I found this BBQ thermometer to be very fast in getting a reading and as far as I can tell comparing it to others it is very accurate. I also like the idea that if you turn it over it shows the temperature upright no matter which way is up.I would buy this product again.
