4.0 out of 5 stars Toy camera - fun for kids play, but not for high quality imaging
This little camera is a toy, and it is loads of fun for the kids. It is durable, light, and kid-sized. There are many “stickers" they can put on the screen, ex: bunny ears, underwater theme, glasses, etc.As for the images, the quality is pretty low; this is a toy, and they are best enjoyed on the screen of the camera. You can get them off the camera, but requires some effort: you cannot connect directly via the USB port, you have to have a card reader. A micro SD card reader, to be exact. I was able to remove the micro SD card and upload them to my computer, but the effort wasn’t really worth it. The images are not high enough quality to print; I have included them so you can see.
5.0 out of 5 stars Oh, the hilarious things kids take pictures of...
Their own feet, the wads of gum you didn't know they've stuck under the coffee table, the toilet, the dust-bunnies under the couch, you drooling while taking a nap on the couch, the dog relieving himself in the backyard, their sibling picking their nose.....the possibilities are endless. It's hilarious to see what they take puctures of.This is quite good for a kids camera. The outer silicone shell feels and looks nice, but is also wonderful for gripping, which is important since it's being used by children. The quality of the images is better than other kids cameras I've seen. It's definitely for somewhat older children. It says 3+, but I don't think it would last as long with the wear and tear a 3 or even 4 year-old. My personal opinion is it's better for children 5 and up, unless you have an exceptionally gentle 3 year-old. It is durable and can handle some drops to the floor, just not heavy abuse or being fully submerged in water (like being thrown into a toilet, dropped in the tub during bath-time, or any other such shenanigans a toddler typically gets into). That said, it's a cute little camera, It comes with an SD card, making it ready to use right out of the box.which is great, so a child can start snapping pics right away (patience is not a virtue found in spades with young children).**Note that the SD card is already inserted into the card slot. At first I thought it was missing, so I opened the rubber gasket where the SD card slot and the charging port is located, and found it comes with the card already inserted. Also comes with the charging cord, and with a little matching lanyard that attaches to the camera, for extra protection against dropping and to keep it handy for your child as they run around and explore their new hobby. It even includes some stickers/decals for cute personalization by your child. It's lightweight and small, which is good so little hands can hold and easily use the camera and the buttons.I was surprised by how many features it has for a young children's camera. It has autofocus, timer, 6× magnification, automatic shut-off, time-lapse setting, and a bunch of filters. But what I especially love is that it can take video.Initially I worried that it might be too complicated with too many features for a 5 year-old, however, once it's initially set up by an adult (or by a child themselves for older kids of 9, 10 yrs and up )...it's quite intuitive for even a young child of 5+.For a younger child (4-7 years or so), a quick tutorial/explanation of how to use the camera and it's features is sufficient, and they catch on quite quickly. But even those that don't immediately catch on to all of the features, can explore the camera and it's features as they go. If they can push the button to snap a picture, they can use and enjoy this camera right off the bat.She loves it!It will definitely provide hours of entertainment, promotes creativity, and introduces kids to a fun, new hobby....and brings to your attention just how long it's been since you cleaned under the couch...Would make a really nice gift!I recommend
4.0 out of 5 stars Camera quality is good, image is superior to other kids toy cameras.
We own a couple kids cameras, and while the picture quality, and view screen are superior, to an adult. The fun quality is lacking for the kids. They continue to play with the other camera, and this is just boring. It has the games, and frames, just like the other vtech ones. This model is smaller, harder to hold for little ones. The buttons are small, like an adult camera. It takes pictures fast, so no more blurry images. It takes decent low light pictures. You know I really thought they'd like it better, but they just don't. Kids don't seem to care about the picture it takes, just me.
5.0 out of 5 stars Just remember this is a KIDS camera
Got this camera for my little one to use to replace a toddler type one that his puppy got a hold of (oops). He is 8 and on the spectrum and absolutely loves cameras and taking pictures. He has a bunch of older cameras he uses as pretend as well. He quickly got the grasp of navigating around this thing and loves the colors. He was hesitant to even let me try he's so obsessed with it (I did anyway lol). I love the size. It's small and sleek. For reference, there is a picture in the palm of my hand (adult female). It's easy for him to slip into his jacket pocket or hang around his wrist when we are heading outdoors and not too bulky in his hands. The case on this is great! Nice and sturdy and a great texture to help him keep it in his hands. The strap is a good idea. It unhooks from the base without having to fully take it off. Which allows him to keep it around his body and quickly have the ability to pass it around to share his handy work without fully unclipping it. It comes with a little charge which is fantastic because he happened to come home right as it was being unboxed and haaaadddd to try it lol.
5.0 out of 5 stars Photography fun for kids
My daughter always kept stealing my phone and filling it up with pictures and videos... this camera is the perfect solution! Not only does it take pictures and videos but it also has a selfie cam on the back, which is awesome. Plus, this camera has a flash on it for taking pictures in low light! It came with a strap that's long enough to wear as a necklace , and you can quick-release the camera from that strap by pressing a button on the swivel. It also came with a charging cable and A 32GB micro-SD card (that was pre-inserted upon recieving). You can access the charging port and micro-sd card through the side of the camera. The camera is really cute and it also came with a sheet of stickers for decorating it and there were many left over stickers after it was covered... a nice bonus! The format for the pictures is .JPG and for videos is .AVIThis is a great camera for children to express their creativity with!
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use.
Very nice. She takes a million pictures a day with this.
3.0 out of 5 stars Looks cute but not easy to use
Not easy to use in the sense that there’s no center button to click on anything so to view photos and delete is confusing (the shutter is the select button) so it takes a little while to get the hang of the controls but the camera works and has filters which can be fun for kids. The videos are decent to look at and you can hear them. It’s a cute body and comes with a memory card and charging cable with a usbC kudos for that.
