Size medium fit my almost-8yo son perfectly. The gridded backs help disperse sweat. My son had a little trouble getting the shin guards into the sleeves (so there is some learning curve). The sleeves themselves were a bit big around for my skinny guy, we'll probably just tuck them in to his soccer socks. Overall, they seem like pretty good quality and protected my son from a few hard kicks.

I liked these shin guards they work very well. Although I don't play soccer I purchased these for skateboarding. They work very well for preventing further injury to myself. If your kid skateboards these work great and the sleeve does run a bit on the large side I wish they came with Velcro or elastic.
