5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!!

Wow. Love this camera so far. Only had a week or so but it’s great! I kayak and hike and I’m always nervous about using my iPhone to take pictures in my canoe and kayak or around water. This camera is really well made. The first day I got it I went to the river and tested it out. Works underwater and can get completely wet. I took it on a kayak trip the other day and it took amazing pics and no issues at all. It was in water multiple times during the day.Plus when I get home I take the SIM card out and put it into my SIM card reader and then I put it into my iPad and download the pics. Works amazingly well!! Five stars!

Just returned from a trip to Baja. First time I have used the camera. It actually takes good pictures out of the water, but in the water it’s very poor. Out of 100 pictures I took there were probably 4 or 5 that were usable. Most are blurry. You have to be very close to get a clear picture so any water movement causes everything to be blurry. I would return it if I could.Addendum: Just returned from a trip to the Galapagos. I discovered that the last time I used it I didn't have it set in underwater mode. Definately need to do that! We got some pretty good pictures this time. The only down side is that you need to be fairly close to get a decent picture, so basically have to be patient until things come closer. Probably would be better results if you were diving instead of snorkling. As much more pleased with the outcome this time!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great snapshot camera.

    S.C. · February 17, 2024

So far the Kodak Pixpro WPZ2 has been working as expected. It takes decent snapshots. The accompanying image is downsized from 4608x3456 to 900x675 pixels. So, it really doesn't represent the possible resolution. but shows the color and contrast. It has a nice wide angle default image and somewhat decent optical zoom to 4X. As it is with most digital devices, going beyond that into digital zoom isn't valuable to me. It comes with a brief starter manual. You can easily find the full manual online to unlock all of the capabilities.. I added a cheap plastic screen protector for the back because the glass is pretty exposed. I'd say that with an inexpensive 32 gig microSD memory card and a second battery, you'd be pretty set to take a week's worth of photos on a trip. I generally don't do much with videos but they are ok for this sort of camera. One issue with the features is that the Wifi is for connecting to a cell phone app to show pictures via your phone. From what I've found, I can't simply download images to my PC with the camera's Wifi. It has a supplied USB cord for that or you can transfer them from the memory card. So, the two shots are unaltered. One is wide angle and the other is full 24X of the same building. One issue is that the protective glass over the lens can very easily get a greasy fingerprint on it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really I know it’s Kodak, but don’t waste your money

    J. · September 11, 2024

I bought this for a special trip. I didn’t expect much of it because it was only $150, but for $150, I figured I would have clear pictures. They were horrible blurry and super small. I don’t even think young kids would even like it with us being used to cell phone photo quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars One week salt water use and going strong!

    G. · June 16, 2024

This camera is great! It was easy to use, easy to set up, took great photos and video, and was still going strong after an entire week of salt water snorkling activities. Be sure you have it closed and locked whenever you fiddle with the battery compartment - that's where you plug it in to recharge. Needed to charge the battery every night or two depending on usage. It took great underwater video, too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Heed the Warnings

    M.D.B. · June 7, 2024

If you're looking for a digital camera that takes acceptable photos, look somewhere else. Several reviewers indicated that the camera produced pictures of poor quality; however, I was purchasing this for my 13-year-old to take to camp, so I wasn't expecting superb photo quality, but I didn't expect the quality to be as poor as it was. Everything about the camera was fine -- appeared to be well built, straightforward instructions, accessories, etc. -- except for the photos. Save your time and money and buy a good-quality refurbished camera. If you decide to purchase the camera like I did, immediately check the picture quality before taking it on a trip, so it can be returned, and a replacement can be found.

5.0 out of 5 stars So durable!

    R. · June 24, 2024

This camera is perfect for me as a traveler/college student who loves taking photos! The durability is my favorite feature! I will say the best photos are taken at night with flash on of people, exactly what I’m looking for! I would highly recommend this camera :) I take this camera everywhere!

2.0 out of 5 stars Underwater Camera

This camera takes OK photos in very clear water, such as a pool, BUT in the ocean it was not good at all. Poor quality for videos and photos.

Kodaks 'Tough' Camera is water, sand, dust & shockproof. Its also excellent for general photography.

    T.E. · June 22, 2024

This is a very competent 'tough' zoom camera at a very good price ( £158 on Bolo ) It's rugged dustproof, sand proof, shockproof & waterproof down to 50 metres ( 165 ft ) and will fit into a jacket pocket. I have used it in teeming rain, swimming pools, seawater and of course on the beach - all with no problem. It has a built-in flash, optical zoom lens [ wide angle to short telephoto ], wi-fi, numerous scene modes including underwater. Also present are the usual shooting choices including Auto, Programme, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual & Panorama. Video can be shot in full HD.The viewing screen is bright, clear and easy to use both above and under water. It also performs very well as a general use camera for snapping everything from family groups to scenic views. The 4 x optical zoom lens copes well with both very bright and low light. Using the built in flash you can shoot in very poor light or use it to ' fill in ' and even out the amount of light needed for any picture.Does it really work under water - yes it does, though fifteen feet is the lowest I have ever taken it. Is it worth the money - yes, for use both as a specialist camera and as one for all general photographic uses.Is it fun - definitely!
